  there was one on here the other day with 6 cameras and a 2TB HDD for $449.

  These TVI systems are only a small step up from the generic systems such as recently listed here for $100 with a hard drive.

  The software is a little more polished, but still based on the same reference design and software from the chip-maker as the generics.
  They do the job for home security, but this is not a particularly good price.
  Note it is only a 4-channel DVR, so you cannot add extra cameras. I'd suggest getting an 8-channel, and compatible extra cameras are only $30,

  Cameras are standard TVI, with the bonus of PIR motion detect, which cab be helpful.
