An amazing deal if you can get it.

This deal just been widened to include the Delta ring.

This is a complicated deal. I suggest reading everything here, as well as comments below before attempting to claim this.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is a new subscription service combining both Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold.

A limited number of Xbox Insiders on the Delta ring are invited to test Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for a special introductory price of $1, with any outstanding months of Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass on their account converted into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at a 1 to 1 ratio.

When upgrading to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the remaining time on your Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions will be converted to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time at a 1 to 1 ratio each based on days remaining, up to a maximum of 36 months. For example, if you have 12 months of Xbox Live Gold time remaining, and 12 months of Xbox Game Pass time remaining, this will be converted to 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate when you upgrade.

Main Points. Read Carefully!

  • Microsoft recently released Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions (basically Xbox Live Gold + Game Pass bundled together). This is what this deal will convert your subscription to.
  • You are required to join the Xbox Insider Delta program, accepting its terms & conditions, and updating your console. Your console will receive system updates more frequently as part of the program, and the Xbox will likely be more buggy.
  • You will NOT be eligible to redeem Xbox Live or Game Pass tokens (for a limited time, as this functionality is not available yet). Redeem these before activating this deal.
  • Maximum of 36 months (combined Game Pass & Xbox Live Gold) is available for conversion to Game Pass Ultimate, any extra months will be forfeited.

Note: there is some eligibility criteria to join the Xbox Insiders Delta program. So check this. You need at least 1 month of tenure PLUS 20 XP insider points (Level 2). It’s not possible to meet this criteria today, but it’s worthwhile signing up for the Insiders program and accumulating XP in anticipation for further widening of this deal or future deals.

When you meet the eligibility criteria, follow these steps to obtain the deal:

  • On your console, download the Xbox Insider App
  • Launch the app, and enrol your console into the Delta Preview Ring (the Beta and Alpha Skip Ahead rings also work)
  • Update your console (go to Settings > System > Updates. Then Update Console).
  • Open the Xbox Insider App again. Navigate to Insider Content. Then select "Xbox Game Pass Ultimate"
  • Sign up for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1/month
  • Enjoy!

    I was in the beta testing thing for xbox.. many updates would fail and I'd have to factory reset my xbox one almost daily :( not worth it tbh… I'll just wait.

    Why are so many ozbargainer's not doing Microsoft rewards? I got a 12 month code at the start of the month for nothing, just picked up another one month code for this deal and will have enough points for another 12 months in Aug.

        Usually get about 300 points a day for 5 mins of searching and clicking links. Adds up to about 8000 points a month. You can get 12 months of xbox live for about 22000 points when there's a deal.

      People are, but those reward points cannot be converted to insider XP. I don't think people can get a 12 month code at the start now. We also combined purchases using those reward points (converted to XB/MS credits) with cash back rewards. Thing is, not everyone is that into GamePass. It is a great idea, but I don't have time to play games most of the time, the Xmas 1 month for $1 is good enough for me (and we can simply use the $5 voucher redeemed through reward points). Also, Microsoft seems to run a $1 promotion when there is a new exclusive released lately. Didn't we also have the 3 months for $2 recently?

      Anyway, it is irrelevant to this. I'd rather get this deal than pretend I can accumulate rewards to compensate for unable to get enough XP to participate.

          Basically, not sure whether exchanging those reward points for GamePass is a good deal due to other specials for GamePass. This year, I spent $4 digital XB/MS credits (still have lots) in total on GamePass and got 5 months worth (so it's not even worth a $5 MS/Xbox voucher - 4750 points without discount, less with discount).

          So, maths wise, it doesn't make sense to me to exchange points for 1 month GamePass code right now. Anyone doing that must be very desperate to get 1 additional month of GamePass.

              @[Deactivated]: Have you maxed out with all your MS rewards points collected so far + this deal? Some people have maxed out already.

              Basically, you converted approx $5.50 worth of points to XBLG just for that extra month.

              Those reward points, you traded your time for it. It can be quite annoying to use Bing, and those dumb quizzes, boring quests can be a waste of time. That time can be better spent on other things (and you can get more $$$ - real money not virtual currency).

              I can see why other people just get all the good deals now to max it out, rather than waiting and collecting more MS reward points to covert into membership months.

    Atter going through all the steps op provided, I have successfully got the game pass ultimate subscription.

    Both of my current game pass ( expired November 2021) and my live gold ( expired May 2020) are automatically cancelled. Now my new xbox game pass ultimate expires on 12 May 2022 (3 years from now on). and the recurring billing charge will be still one buck.

      Unfortunately you will be about 35 points short of XP Level 5 if you join today and do everything. :-(

      With some luck this deal will be mainstream soon (fingers crossed for an announcement at E3).

            @guidedlight: It’s going to be millions of gold members that won’t be paying for Game Pass though and potentially up to 36 months. That and you can add time post taking up the offer. It seems too generous to do for the entire user base to me, especially given the pricing they’ve announced.

          I have just tried the Crackdown 3 & Minecraft and do not get any options to earn points for these games am I missing something how do I rate the game?

            @Djlegzy: Have you installed both insider apps on XBox One and Windows 10? You could get additional 10-15 points from Windows 10 version of the app. It was also a bit odd that despite not owning Minecraft, by installing the trial, after a few minutes, the Windows app offered me to rate the game for 5 points.

            On 120 points, still 20 points short, just joined today. Stats: 3 quests, 5 surveys, 2 quick polls, 6 ratings, 0 reports.

    Sounds like a great idea. I just looked at some surveys on PC … but they're half english, half dutch??
    Anyone ever experienced this? (never had anything set to dutch, location set Aus, language English)
    Very strange. Currently L2 it looks like, and I was part of the Windows insider program, hopefully that counts for something.

    Once the subscription has been updated to Ultimate, does anyone know if we can revert back to the non-beta builds or unenroll from the system update insider entirely? The frequency of the updates can be a little annoying.

    I reached level 5 today (13/05/19) and I don't have the option to get into the Beta ring.

      I was able to complete the quest for “report a problem” without actually reporting a problem. Should I bother with doing one, or is it just the exp you get from completing the quest?

    I've been in the Xbox Insider program for almost two years and have checked the Insider Hub on Xbox and PC every few months during that time but am still only on Level 4 with 105 points. I have never seen any Quests. It always says "It is pretty quiet at the moment. Check back in a while". Does anyone know how to get these Quests? I'm hoping a few might get me to Level 5!

      cdkeys.com generally has the best balance of low everyday price and retailer reputation.

      Remember to redeem this token BEFORE you sign up for this deal, because you won't be able to redeem it afterwards.

          We are currently validating the functionality to apply additional Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Live Gold tokens towards your existing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. As this functionality is still being tested, for a limited time you will be unable to redeem Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Live Gold tokens after upgrading. For this reason, we recommend redeeming any Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Live Gold tokens prior to upgrading to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

    OK I finally did it and have answered my BIG question :)

    • Enrolled in Beta after getting to Level 5
    • Went to insider content and selected Ultimate Game Pass
    • Worked and extended by 2 years as I only had gold for two years
    • Changed from Beta back to Omega build as it's more stable
    • Went back to subscriptions and notices gold and game pass cancelled AND NOTHING ABOUT GAME PASS ULTIMATE
    • Shat myself…
    • Checked Live and Game Pass games and they all worked fine
    • Cleaned up the sh!t and composed myself

    All works fine but just doesn't show your subscription length on your dashboard or settings.

      I did the same Lol, it even disappears from your xbox profile in the subscriptions screen online, so I re enrolled back into the beta ring and went back to being visible. So I guess there is just a bug there as both services still worked either way, but I've left mine on the beta ring for now :)

      It should show up in your account on the Microsoft website if you want that certainty. The cancellations are because it ceases your existing services when creating this one as a seperate service in your accounts billing.

    Just wondering if people who managed to get into Beta had been Insider members for 3+ months? Or are you new members as of this week?

    I managed to get to level 5 today (but only joined this week) and I can't see anywhere to switch to Beta? Tried settings -> updates, multiple restarts, Insider app -> groups… but no luck.

      Maybe later on but right now there’s issues with redeeming codes if you’re a part of this according to the MS blogs. Apparently they’re working on it. Saw some advice on reddit that it’s also best to not cancel Ultimate to apply the credit and then reapply too.

      Basically MS have said if you want to add extra time, best to do it prior to grabbing the offer otherwise you will need to wait to add extra time. I don’t know if they’ve said when they do fix that whether time will still be at 1:1 ratio.
