        Why not ask the fish?

    • i was under the impression that a lot of fish oil supplements are rancid straight off the shelf …

      • Correct, just cut open the capsule and smell it, rancid fish

Wagner is a Chemist Warehouse own brand.

My guess would be that they're manufactured by Vitaco considering the presence of their brand names in CWH stores, and the fact that the Wagner vitamin bottle I have says that it was made in New Zealand.

Edit: I'm an idiot, there wasn't any guessing required. I just looked up the barcode number for that bottle of Wagner vitamins and it's assigned to "VITACO HEALTH (NZ) LIMITED".

  • This is cheap… has anyone had much to do with this brand?

    • Must be their own "in-house" brand as the "Contact Us" goes to a "mychemist" email address (aka Chemist Warehouse) and the "Find a stockist" goes directly to the Chemist Warehouse site.

It would be interesting to know what level of
"oxidation marker" testing these underwent compared to a company such as Bioceuticals or one of the more expensive brands on the market.

But then again you won't be paying $7.50 for them either, and you won't be getting them from a "Bunnings-stye" store.

      • Chemist Warehouse bought the Wagner brand in 2017 from Vitaco, which was formed in 2007 when Healtheries merged with Nutra-Life, who had acquired the brand in 1996 after founder Hans Wagner of Kyolic fame died in a plane crash

This doesn't seem to be odorless which is a bummer.

    • Good point

  • I was looking at these too but decided to go with these Bioglan ones.

The Wagner ones are 4 pills per day, so the 400 will last you 100 days. The Bioglan are 1 per day meaning they last 200 days. If you applied the maths to the Wagner ones, you'll be spending $15 for 200 days vs. $13 for the Bioglan ones.

    • you are getting the same amount of fish oil from each one (1000 x 400 vs 2000 x 200)

      • Same number of fish as well?

      • Yeah I should have clarified that for me it’s based on the number of capsules I need to take per day. I’d much rather 1 than 4 especially since I also take other vitamins.

        • You'd only need to take 2 capsules of Wagner to get the equivalent of 1 capsule of Bioglan.

    Brought some exp date 11-1-22.
    Each capsule contains 1g (1000mg)
    300mg omega 3 marine triglycerides
    180mg equiv eicosapentaenoic acid
    120mg equiv docosahexaenoic acid

  • I have had this before. It has no fishy aftertaste which is really good. They have not mentioned that it is odourless but I think it is odourless.

  • I have 2 bottles of them. They are def not odourless, and the fishy scent is fairly strong. After consumption, sometimes when I burp I can taste it too, its too unpleasant for me to continue.

    • Salmon is quite expensive nowdays. Which real ozbargainer would not mind a fish burp for free? I would buy a couple!

    • I have mine with food and don't get any fishy burps.
