Would love one of these if I weren’t so reliant on iMessage and FaceTime.

    • +3

Devs managed to get iMessage working with Android (with some work) but not FaceTime sadly.

      • That’s cool! Since Apple got caught out slowing down phones they seem to last a while now… maybe I’ll just keep my iPhone X for five years…

        • +5

You can always just go to China and upgrade your storage. Seriously you can have pretty much any component upgraded/replaced in the Shenzhen markets or even have a "conversion" to the next version up.

      • +2

With the small limitation that you require a Mac somewhere that's always-on and running an iMessage forwarding service

        • Hence the brackets.

  • +7

It has B28 & NFC!?!?! What is everyone going to complain about now?

    • +44

No headphone jack, no expandable storage.

      • +7

The display has a notch at the top

        • +3

          No waterproofing.

    • +1

      No IP 68.
      No 512GB/1TB storage.
      No 5G.
No Poco F1 price ($400 or under).
      No no no.

      • +9

I'm sad it has no no no.

        • No,…it does not have no no no lol.

      • They actually have 256GB/512GB options in their limited Transparent and Explorer editions ;)

    • +4

Personally I'm a bit put off by the battery

      • +2

Same, combined with the lack of headphone jack it's a hard pass from me………still this phone has great specs, just wish it had a better battery (coming from a Mi 5s Plus, Redmi Note 4 and a Poco F1 i don't wanna go back down to 3300 mAh, and losing the headphone jack is a big loss for me since i rely on it so much).

        • +2

Just watched some video reviews on youtube, and it actually performs similarly to an S10 (~7h) in an active use battery test thanks to an OS that's very well optimised to the Snapdragon 855, so not as bad as it sounds. Apparently its idle battery life is not great though.

          • +1

@Reje: 7h SOT is like a rookie thing compared to around 10-12 SOT, especially since i'm used to a 4000 mAh phone which lasts for a whole day (and i do a lot of things on my Poco F1, like playing Pubg at times, watch youtube a lot, listen to spotify, open google docs etc).

            • +1

@SDF05: Yeah I'm definitely after better performance than that as well. It'll probably be the Lenovo Z6 Pro for me

      • +2

Dont be. when i goto bed at night i still have ~30% battery and i use my phone alot. idle is good after an update. it feels like a bigger battery the way its optimised.

      • +1

        Xiaomi power bank solves that

  • +4

Aussie rate is S**t at this moment….:(

    • Part of inflated phone prices are due to shit Aussie dollars.

  • Again only in Black Colour. Rep can you add the option or code for the Blue Colour as well

    • +2

So far I've only been able to get $465.99 US for the Blue so that's why I didn't share it. I'm hoping I can get lower tomorrow.

      • user photo checked.

        • Any luck with the Blue ?

          • +1

            @regenade: Nothing yet sorry.

          • +1
            • @Clear: any chance for the purple too? :)

            • @Clear: Thanks but price of phone itself is now US $439.99. Can you get a coupon to make it $399.99, would be EPIC deal selling in hundreds

              • @regenade: So if I do even lower? 😉 I'll have something soon

                • @Clear: Awesome yes price without any coupon is US $439 now, so I am sure you can do better or even better bundle with the 20W Fast Wireless Charger bundle

                  • @regenade: Once it clocks over to June I can do a good price. I'll see if I can get a wireless bundle going.

                    • @Clear: It's already June. Do you have a bundle epic deal?

                      • @theOZmate: Definitely not on a weekend when GeekBuying aren't working ;) I might have something next week.

  • +2

Waiting for the Lenovo Z6 Pro to be released.

    • Geek will have stock so I might do a deal on release. Downside is no B28 :(

      • you haven't post deal on qi fan charger for a while :)

        • +1

Yeah the WC05 is out of stock at GeekBuying. Unfortunately Tronsmart are moving away from chargers.

      • 12GB RAM/512GB Version. Thanks :D

      • Is there a Lenovo Z6 Pro with B28?

        • Not that I'm aware of.

  • Nice phone, hope I got spare $600 in pocket.

  • So very tempting………………………………………………………………………………..

  • +5

Poco f2 has been announced. It will have snapdragon 855 as well, and they said it will be the cheapest snapdragon 855 phone.
If you're not in a rush, maybe worth the wait

    • Man i wish it has NFC, would be an immediate buy from me especially if they keep just about everything from Poco F1 + smaller or no notch + NFC. I miss not having NFC since i got this phone. I know it's aimed for India and i know they don't use NFC but it wouldn't be so bad to include one.

    • +1

For the 6GB/64GB version plus 10% GST charged at checkout.

      • Ahh, fair point, didn't notice that. Thanks for the clarification

  • +2

Thank you Clear! LOL for the past day or two I had your profile as a tab just refreshing to see when you would post the Mi 9 deal! :D!

    • +11

Flattering. You can subscribe to users on their profile so you'll get a notification when they post a deal ;)

      • +7

Oh wow, I did not know that! That's actually pretty awesome! I have liked and subscribed and hit the bell icon for you! :D!

  • +2

Any chance of a Oneplus 7 deal when it comes out? (:

    • Lol, OnePlus 7 won't be discounted for quite some time. Keep dreaming mate.

    • +1

Also keen for a OnePlus 7 Pro deal when it comes out

  • No micro sd card slot…

    • +2

This plus no headphone jack. Man this would have been the replacement for my aging lg v20 if it had these features.

    • Xiaomi believe that adding micro SD slots has an impact on the appearance, battery life and are very prone to failure so they choose not to add them to their Mi Series phones. Their sub-brand Redmi however always include them often at the expensive of a SIM card slot.

  • Any chance on Black Shark 2?

  • Any chance on Mi Pad 4 (3GB/32GB) deals? :)

  • +1

Great phone for the price, bought it on release and only slightly regret paying $150 more (but by previous phone kicked it)
No headphone jack and terrible battery, although charge time is quick.

    • +1

Terrible? Even after update optimisations as above comment? ( I don't have this phone, so just going by what I read here ).

  • Good price.

OP, any chance of a good price for the 64GB variant?

Has anyone installed Nova on a Xiaomi phone? Does it work as expected?

  • +1

i know we asked for a deal and HONESTLY at this price you would be crazy to buy this over the other note 9 deal with Woolworth gift cards for $680

  • Having no OIS is a deal breaker for me.

    • +1

Harder to get OIS in these larger sensors, so they replaced it with a closed loop motor that apparently does a much better job.

      • Thanks for this but as far as I understand it, close loop motor effects autofocus speed and has nothing to do with the stabilization.

    • +1

I saw some youtube videos, video stabilization on Mi 9 is much better than Mi 9 SE, but photo seems to be the same.

  • Is there a deal for the 8gb 128gb mi9? @Clear

    • Sorry no. The 8GB/128GB is the Chinese variant that lacks B28.

      • Thanks so much for that, i just researched about B28 and i think i would have been pretty salty if i brought a phone without B28 support here in AUS, Gonna buy the 6GB/128GB then, that should be sufficient.

      • Can you confirm if the blue one supports B28? Specs say it doesn't?

        • Yes. I linked the wrong one.

  • +3

Hey guys I've managed to score the same price on the Blue Variant with the coupon MI9BLUE

  • I'm guessing you can't get a tax invoice for this?

    • You're not paying any tax on this so no.

      • +2

How about normal receipt (for tax deduction), not for claiming TRS

  • Hey @Clear when with the code expire?

    • +1

1 month from posting or until all the pcs allocated are sold. I'll have to double check with Geek tomorrow as it was at ~100 last count.

      • Thanks for letting us. Gonna buy it now anyway. Too damn good of a deal and its damn nice phone.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered one for a birthday gift.

  • Thanks, ordered Blue one

    • Still no Tracking of the Phone's Delivery, normally it takes how many days?

  • Hm…It's stuck at processing…I contacted the customer service via live chat and told it will be shipped out by the end of this week…Hope I can have it by next week if possible.

    • Same here, stuck at processing for 3 days already. Hope they really ship it by tomorrow.

      • Got mail saying it shipped out today.

        • Oh.. I just got my email too saying the same..

  • Just found this on ebay Australia. Comes out to be AU$663 with 20% off coupon code PSMART20. But not sure if its Global version. Model No. is MZB7257EU which looks like EU model. Can someone confirm. Messaging is disabled by the Seller.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Xiaomi-Mi-9-Dual-Sim-6GB-RAM-64G…

    • Well. I don't like to gamble with eBay purchases when the seller didn't put critical information such as global version in their posting.

    • This ebay list appears to be the 64G version.

  • can you create a discount bundle with the car charger, indoor wireless charger, power bank, and Australian AC adapter?

  • Anyone got idea on delivery eta? How long it took for your delivery?

  • Thanks for this!

  • I am still waiting, Anyone received Phone yet? and the price dropped to US$439.99 now. (Chat with staff, They are not going to refund the -US$20)
