  • Thanks, been holding out for this (which comes and go) got one!

  • Good deal, but apparently there are dropout issues:

    • I've had the 3 pack of Google WiFi since Feb 2018 and it's made my WiFi extremely reliable no matter where I go in the house. I haven't experienced any of these dropout reported. I've recommended it as a simple WiFi blackspot fix for many friends and all have reported significant improvement. $319 is a great price for it. Currently $496 at OfficeWorks and $494 at JB

    • I've had mine for about 18 months, never had any problems with them.

      • Has this for almost 2 years, and it’s work flawlessly. One died and was replaced by the goodguys with no issue. Google on the other hand wouldn’t help and claim the unit only has 1 year warranty.

    • No dropout issues here either. Using them on 2 separate sites (3 at each site) with 30 devices constantly and concurrent connected, reporting is great for finding problem users.

  • Hard life when I only need two. I think the two set of Orbi is still better value, has better throughput and reliability than the google.

I was the same, sold my 3rd one on ebay for $140 which effectively made each unit $90.

  • Anyone know if I can split up the 3 pack and use it separately in different apartments? Would like to get a 3 pack since I want one for myself and one for my parents' apartment. Thanks

No problems at all. All units are identical and can be used independently or together. If you are handling your parents' networking duties you can even set them up under your own Google profile as a separate site/location and then you can monitor/manage remotely. Alternatively you can set them up under their own Google profile and then assign your own Google profile as an authorised administrator. Both configurations are very easy and intuitive to setup.

I'm kind of hesitant to pull the trigger, I did some reading and found the Google Wifi HAS to operate as your router if you want mesh to work.

    • This is where I'm at too. I like having my Ubiquiti EdgerouterX looking after the network including firewall rules that I can apply per device. If I go down the Google wi-fi path then all my edgerouter will see is a single IP address representing all the devices using wifi. Not sure I can trade all that control away.

Mesh with bridge mode support is what I really need. Still, temped by this offer!

    • interesting. What about the Orbis?

  • Should I pull the trigger on a set of these or wait for a set of Netgear Orbis to go on sale?

    • I ended up pulling the trigger, was on the same boat waiting for the Netgear Orbi to go on sale.

  • I've had one for about a year now. Was fine on ADSL through modem, loved it. Just got HFC NBN and wifi has been terrible. Wired connection no issues but wifi drops out/slow speeds…have called the help line with no resolution

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed one to test out 👍

  • Anyone had luck with Officeworks yet?

I tried, they said they don’t price match any eBay deals
