Sonos One $199 + Delivery or Free Pickup Subiaco (RRP $299) @ Audiohub Perth

190

Save $100 on a sonos one! Best price I’ve seen given Sonos generally only discount 20% max.

It’s the Gen 1, not the new Gen 2, however the update is minor. Not not likely to be noticed by anyone.

This is the unit with Alexa built in

I’ve had Harvey’s price match these before

    • $21.95. Takes the shine off a bit.

    Thanks OP. Ordered for pickup.

  • These are being discontinued. Expect heavy discounts.

    • Why?

      • I think they mean it's a superseded model. There's a Gen 2 now… GA coming soon… Finally.

        • Oh ok. I’ve got gen 1. Love it. Not sure what advantages come with gen 2. I tried to do some research on it but the word on the street is nothing. So what’s the point?!

          • @Bellpop: Gen 2 has full voice control support.

            • @xenoic: What does that mean? I can already use Alexa

            • @xenoic: Gen 1 also has full voice support. See my comment below.

              • @jamba: My bad, I thought it’s the Sonos Play One CD Sonos One

Read articles that they are stopping production on a few speakers due to poor sales? Apparently only the beam doing well at the moment.

        • This. The play one speakers are being discontinued due to poor sales.

Word is Sonos is in some serious financial trouble need to act fast to save $$$ or risk bankruptcy

  • These are the differences between Gen 1 & Gen 2.

    • That’s great thanks. But it doesn’t show what they do differently.

      • They do everything the same at the moment but with future updates Gen 2 will be doing a bit more.

          Thanks. But just as ambiguous.

          • @Bellpop: They don't do anything differently at the moment. They're functionally the same. Equivalent.

Gen 2 has a better processor and more memory though, so if in the future Sonos decides to provide some update that the Gen 1 processor and memory cannot handle, Gen 2 will be able to do something different to Gen 1. But nothing has been announced. Sonos has not stated why they released a Gen 2 when the Gen 1 works fine.

So until then, they don't do anything differently. They're functionally the same. Unambiguously equivalent.

  • Fantastic, cheapest I've seen yet. Bought a pair. Thanks OP.

These now have Google Assistant built in too… Finally!

    • EDIT: See you posted a link now.

Awesome! Although I wish there was some way to buy a Sonos One and control all the legacy Sonos speakers I have with it!

    • Not available in Australia yet.

  • I have 2 x Sonos Play 1 speakers, how do I get google
Assistance to work with my speakers? Do I just need to buy 1 Sonos One speaker and then all my Sonos speakers will work?

    • Was reading about that a while back. Can't find the detail now but a Google search will solve your problem.

        I got it working thanks

  • Dang, looks like they've sold out. I always miss the best deals! :(
