650

Great price. Just reserved myself one at Geelong but would expect there to be stock all over.

Spec says 1tb but store confirmed it's 5tb.

Op. Make sure you take a photo of the price for when you collect. This is definitely a price error.

  • price error…i'd be surprised if Officeworks honored this anywhere.

They even let me buy two!!!!

            • @o53djz7qTPY4der: Awesome, just checking is that 5TB one ? cause the site keep showing it's 1TB

              • +38

@dlovep: Definately 5tb. It's a website mistake though. They only honoured it because I noticed it and called to reserve one. At first he said I could only have one, then said "it's Friday, have two".

            • +3

              @o53djz7qTPY4der: That's awesome! Happy Friday!

            • @o53djz7qTPY4der: You bought eveready aaa's. Shouldn't you have enough eneloops by now?

              • @combatant: I have plenty of rechargeables but I needed some aaa's for the kids toys/emergencies.

Often batteries die and none have been charged or we're on the road and need batteries.

As a final comment, fair play to Officeworks in this situation.

We often see price errors posted here with retailers not owning their mistakes. Officeworks didn't need to sell it to me at the $99 and yet they did. As such, I say, "well done Officeworks"!

    • +2

I think fair play to the chap who served you would be more appropriate?

      • +5

Yeah that too, but he was told to honour it by the website team

  • Its over guys! lol

Just spoke to someone on the phone from my local OW store and they didn’t want to honour the mistake, maybe stores like JbHiFi and OW shouldn’t make so many mistakes! I’ve been told that when a store makes a price error that they have to honour their mistakes no matter what

    • they are not obligated to honor mistakes…

    • @Golly1153 you've been told wrong. Otherwise a small error could completely decimate a small business.

    • They did honour it, to the person that noticed and reserved one whent he price was still in error.

In the meantime, they fixed the error and therefore do not need to honour it.

In your mind, do you think you can go back to an advertised price 3 years ago and demand that they honour that price? No, Pricing is a variable that can change and they must only honour it if advertised at the point of purchase.

Frustrating, yes, but everyone makes mistakes (even "big businesses"). Just need to act fast when somethign is obviously a price error to take advantage of a mistake whilst you can.

      • On cars they could.😂😂😂

  • +1

i dont understand why pricing errors on websites still occur… surely their systems can have some simple rules such as:
    If newprice < oldprice -20% , sendformanagerreview
    If newprice < buyprice, sendformanagerreview
If itemordercount increase by 200% in 5min, sendformanagerreview

    • Because that makes a lot of sense to a developer, but for some reason they have not implemented it.

  • Common guys… Its business just be glad they are willing to honor it.

In Asia they will just charge the additional to your credit card as error price to make you return it and if it's opened thats your problem.

Welcome to the world of different business ethics.

Everybody makes mistakes when the day comes… AI takes over… there will no longer be such bargains like this anymore be glad we live in a generation where there are such flaws and not the perfect automation world

Well that world is already in progress

  • OP did well!.
I was going to post the OW 4TB seagate backup plus for $158.00 I saw last night, new look models out for $199.00.

      That poor woman

    • +4

      Why?

It was already stated as a price error.

Poor girl. She doesn't get paid enough to deal with people like you.
