Great. Now I can watch all that 8K content that doesn't exist yet.
Even 4K is quite scarce, yet.
And thanks to all the UHD disc deals on Amazon recently I also realized/confirmed that that the streamed "4K" content by Netfix etc. is not even close to the quality of the real/full 4k from a disc (can't be the internet as we have NBN with around 50mb/sec average speed).
So I would assume even if there was 8K content you would need a suitable player and discs as otherwise the losses via streaming would be even higher, proportional.

I guess Samsung aren't even confident in their own product.
You can get a new Kia at close to that price, and they have a 7 year warranty. These electronics manufacturers really need to lift their game a bit.

Optimal 1080p distance 2.97m
That seems to be a bit of a deceptive measurement. It's more a measure of where it makes a difference. If you sit 1.5m away then a 4K and 8K tv will look the same, if you site 3m away then a 1080p and 4K will look the same. It means that you need to be 0.8m to notice the difference for an 8K tv, but being that close is crazy. A better measurement is how big the TV needs to be to notice the difference at a specific distance and the average person would probably sit about 2-3m away in a loungeroom.
Man, if I could freely buy a $14k tv then I probably wouldn’t spend so much time on ozbargains
