Here is an article about The Best Thunderbolt 3 Docks at the wirecutter. I quote the part about HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G2 here

CalDigit’s dock is the best option for people who need as many USB-A ports as possible, but the HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G2 is a great alternative if you’re okay with fewer legacy ports and want to spend less on a dock. Two USB-C ports and two Mini DisplayPort outputs instead of one help make up for fewer USB-A ports and the lack of an SD card slot.

The Thunderbolt Dock 120W G2 has three USB-A ports, two USB-C, VGA, Ethernet, Thunderbolt 3, two DisplayPorts, combined audio, 100 W charging, and a Kensington lock slot. It’s the second USB-C port that sets this dock apart from the rest, as it’s the only model we’ve seen to include a second one of those ports at a reasonable price. The HP’s ports were actually a little bit faster than the CalDigit’s, with the USB-A ports averaging 339.3 MB/s write and 419 MB/s read speeds, and the USB-C ports right in line with those results. The second DisplayPort connector is noteworthy because it’s pretty rare, and allows you to hook up to two displays at the same time without a USB-C–to–DisplayPort cable or adapter.

these guys actually have a mobile workstation HP ZBook 15V for $1299. i7-8750H and Quadro P600!
    https://www.centrecom.com.au/hp-zbook-15v-g5-156-fhd-intel-c…

    • woah insane! You should post it

      • unfortunately I am not able to today. maybe someone else? anyway I think 15v is a bit lower quality than Dell equivalent, smaller battery, too. however better cooling on HP unit, more suitable for i7-8xxxH. it's a good configuration for mostly stationary work.

        • p.s. looks like they took this page down anyway, probably all gone. I can organise a workstation from Dell for $1299 if anyone is interested.

  • This is a great deal for a TB3 dock. From everything I've read everything will work with MacBook Pro's except the displays will mirror due to a macOS limitation. Great buy!

    • should work if one of your monitors are usb-c

    • The dock has a Thunderbolt 3 port on the back so you can add a standard usb-c to DP/HDMI dongle to get dual extended monitors. Works well for me.

  • will it work with Lenovo X1 Extreme?

  • I tried connecting my s9 to one of these at work and the USB hub functioned as normal and it charged my phone however, screen mirroring/dex functioned didn't work?

  • Only has VGA and DVI ports. No HDMI.

    • 2x Displayport
