    Perfect price for TRS ;)

    • Is there even gst?

      • +6

Ooh good question - product is still coming from a GST registered Australian business so I would think yes there would be…maybe someone who buys one can confirm

      • +2

Yes, the tax invoice is sent from Videopro, so will have GST based on the $353 amount.

        • But isn't the delivery from overseas. Technically not inside TRS category?

          • +3

@Etagelle: You're essentially using the eBay UK platform to access Videopro's eBay store store based in Australia. It will be shipped from Videopro in Australia hence will have a proper Australian tax invoice

          • @Etagelle: It is.
If you pay GST you can claim it back with TRS

            • @spaceflight: Thought TRS only claims GST? Isn't the conversion charged separately by your bank?

              • @Etagelle:

                Thought TRS only claims GST?

                It does

Isn't the conversion charged separately by your bank?

Yes it is. That has nothing to do with TRS.

  • +4

17$ cheaper than the previous deal. Bullocks.

    • Can't win them all 🙂

    • +8

Could've got 18 Wicked Wings for that. Ouch. Sorry for your loss

  • +10

It seems that most say that the Sony equivalent is better than Bose QuietComfort 35 II, but when I tried these out at JB Hifi, preferred the Bose.

I also found at JB Hifi that it was very difficult to compare as the testing system for each is completely different, and with different sample music playing. Also, the demo ones were functioning via wire, and according to the staff member, the noise cancelling was not engaged on the demos.

Makes it hard to compare for yourself.

    • +1

Yeah, if they don't allow you to play your own songs from your own devices, the sound demos are 100% useless.

    • +2

Here is a 1-year long-term comparison of both.
The video covers all the conveniences and negatives (in addition to NC and sound quality) of both, which are often repeated and discussed in nearly every deal for either the WH-1000XM3 or QC35-II.
Maybe this video should be included in the description of future deals for these two products.

      • +1

Is there a 40 second video for lazy people? 12 minutes is too long, so I still don't know which one is better

        • +2

Just watch it. 12 minutes is short for being able to gauge which product is more suitable for you.
Covers basically everything I have read in the comments of many recent deals. So it’s more efficient than reading comments (which also could leave you missing some information).

        • fwiw i have the qc 25 (bose) and the earpads (pleather) have started to break off. i barely use them and always keep them in their box.

          • @belongsinforums: Over how long? Same thing happening to my QC25 - although I have used them a fair bit over 3 years.

You can get replacement aftermarket pads (non genuine) for $10 delivered on eBay, which I'm planning to do soon.

          • @belongsinforums: I have had mine for 2-3 years and they are still perfect. Use them quite a bit as well.

          • @belongsinforums: My QC25 ear pads were great. I wore them almost daily, never had them in the case and they started fraying after a year or so. I ended up replacing the pads for $12 about a year and a half of ownership.

    • You didn't test with bluetooth from your phone? That's what I did to compare.

I freakin' love my Sony XM3s, would get it again if it breaks. But agree they are not as comfortable as the Bose.

    • +2

I own both. I find the Bose much more comfortable to wear. In terms of sound and noise cancelling, it might be me but I don't hear any significant difference (I often hear people say the Sony noise cancelling is better). Reason I got the Sony in addition to my Bose is that it works better with my Bluetooth transmitter that's plugged into my tv -> no lag vs. a significant lag with Bose.

Edit: connecting devices (actually device in case of Sony as you can connect only one at a time) is much easier with Bose and frankly a bit of a pain with Sony.

    • +1

You can listen to your own music on the demo units via Bluetooth. On the Sony, you hold the power button for 7 seconds to pair your device. On the Bose, you slide the power switch and hold it for about 3 seconds. It's fiddly on the Bose as half the time the power slider either turns them off or doesn't pair, so you may need to try it a few times. And the Bose demo units disconnect themselves after about a minute which is also a nuisance. But I can assure it can be done because I spent hours at various JB stores testing out these two models :)

Also, for anyone testing out the Sony I suggest you download the app first as it has a lot of useful functionality, like the equaliser and ambient sound control.

  • +2

I like how if it was 10 cent cheaper, we can't claim TRS for it.

    • The GST amount will show as the pre eBay discount amount, so you’ll be fine regardless.

    • +2

Yes you could, the invoice will be for the original full price ($353)

  • +3

    Wouldn't accept PLUGIN15 for me.

    • Yeah same here

    • Is your account registration address in the UK or AUS?

      • Mine is Aus. Do I need to create a new account on .co.uk but with an Aus postal address?

        • +5

Yes, you won't be able to use your existing AU account. You'll need to make a new UK account and sign up with a random UK address, and then add your aus address as the primary delivery address after and then it'll work :)

          • @doweyy: Just did that, can confirm it worked.

    • Try logging out and checkout as guest. Otherwise do as doweyy suggested.

      • +1

I can't see an option to check out as a guest, it insists I login with ebay, or with google, or with facebook, or create a new account.
        Am I missing something?

        • I just thought it was worth a try before setting up a new UK account and changing shipping address.
Try using browser in ‘in-cognito’ mode, or clearing cookies / website data (warning you may lose some conveniences / website function if you clear cookies). Then see if you have the check out as guest option.

  • +1

"Code cannot be applied to your order "

    Am I missing something here?

    • +1

Try logging out, checking out as a guest.

  • +2

such a long time waiting for a cheaper price on that. finger is itching to buy but the knowledge of being more than 10% cheaper than that keep waiting forever.

    • +2

I'd say go for it, it hasn't been cheaper than this on face value since the Amazon prime deal, and it won't be cheaper for a while I reckon. They're a great set of headphones, and the enjoyment you'll get using them will be better than waiting for a deal to save some more possibly in the future.

      • Yeah but eofy is around the corner and there is always some good deals before and after tax returns are paid… I'll stick with my stubbornness kkk

  • Do we reckon because of all these sales on the QC35's we might see something similar for XM3's, I want those sony's baby!

  • +1

Do you get charged a foreign transaction fee for this? Shouldn't but just checking.

  • Do these come from UK or Australia?

    • +1

They are posted from Brisbane. It's the same as buying off eBay AU, you're just using eBay UK for payment.

      • Awesome, I'm in QLD myself :]
So 3% Cashback @ TopCashback is the best cashback, just curious as they're based in UK how the cashback process works. Cheers

        • I'm not too familiar with Topcashback unfortunately, might be worth giving it a miss if you haven't used it before and are looking to buy tonight.

  • +1

Damn, I only have a budget of $300 for headphones. These are a bit much 😂

  • I created a UK account yesterday, but as soon as I attempted to checkout something my account got limited, "can not buy anything at this time". I wonder if anyone ran into this problem as well and is there any workaround? Many thanks.

  • -6

Not worth it for the money.
I have them and they sound as good as my friends NC cans that cost only around $100.

Unless you really love the design there are other as good sounding options for a third of the price.

    • +1

What headphones are your friends using? Taotronics?

    • I don't think you really own it. This headphone has the best NC with good maybe not the best sound quality at this price point.

      • Do you own them maxdba ?

I've been posting my opinion on these cans for several times, and I will keep doing so as long as these posts keep popping up. I think it was a dumb buy on my part and I want to give my honest opinion to save some other schmuck some coin.
They are good, but not much better that alternatives which are WAY cheaper, and not your usual $2 cheaper. With the potentially saved $200 you can buy heaps of other stuff of Ozbargin.

Not sure why this rain of downvote.
I admit that design is a valid aspect for this kind of product and if you happen to love QC35 for design - go ahead, spend an extra $200. I did not like the design that much, but bought them because of everybody saying how good they sound. And the fact is, they are not mountains better than for example KitSound Immerse Wireless Bluetooth. But that's just a random model I have had a chance to compare to, I suspect there are others in that price-range that sound the same.

In fact my AIWA HP-X223 from 15 years back (cost around $50 or less) sounded as good or better.

  • Those keep dropping in price. I reckon there is a new version to be released soon.

    • +1

People have been saying that since last year.

      • It's next year now so I reckon in the next couple of months.

  • Wow fantastic price!
