What bank as the most visually appealing card in 2019?

Hey guys,

So I noticed a forum post from back in 2015 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/187708) asking what the best looking bank card was. I'm just curious to see if if in 4 years, anything has changed since card designs have changed since then ect.

comment what you think :)

    • i actually managed to get a friend to sign up to ING a month after me and they have altered the design again

I personally think Up has the best looking bank card, it was designed to be shown off, they even did a blog post about the design process for the card which I thought was cool (https://up.com.au/blog/designing-a-super-powered-welcome-pac…)

I signed up for this card last week because i loved the design! It's so simple yet amazing!

      • Definitely love the thought and aesthetic that has gone into it, whenever I take it out it usually gathers some interest from the cashier or from friends because it's quite different, I've been enjoying my overall banking experience with Up too :)

        • I work at the airport so i see many different cards coming from around the globe. There is only one card that gets close to UP's card design and that's the Monzo debit card from the UK. Other than that, i haven't seen anything close.

Fetishism of credit cards is how Billy McFarland started scamming status-conscious shmucks, and why Apple's card is considered 'news.'

Your card's appearance doesn't matter. And with increasing mobile NFC tap-to-pay, it'll matter even less.

Sir, according to the Australian law this is considered as fraud and illegal…

        So?

stealing is NEVER a bargain. Play it savvy but honest!
About 20 years ago they issued cards with an optional picture of the holder. Stupid privacy laws probably killed it. Nowadays banks use powerful habit matching software to stem fraud. Privacy invasion around our back…

HSBC's cards look rather nice, especially the Everyday Global.

Black Amex card. Doesn't matter what it looks like, the metal card is awesome.

    • Yeah it's a solid card

      • I've actually held one, customer was paying with it, I was definitely surprised by the weight. I had never heard of them before that.

Amex platinum or amex black. Both are metal cards

  • I would say the Up Debit card looks nice and minimalist. I did have the old CBA debit card and I find the newer design looks much better.

Next question will be the numerology of your CVV.

      666 is the coolest CVV

Who became bankrupt first, you or the bank?

  • Xinja Debit Card, bright pink

    • Are they debit cards now? I was given a reloadable prepaid card.

      • Prepaid Card which you can't be issued at the moment if you are a new customer as they're closed for new registrations while they are transitioning to it now being a bank.

  • ING, orange
    Citibank, blue
    Amex, blue
    Macquarie, black white and grey

As much as I dislike Apple, it's gotta be the Apple Credit Card even though it isn't out any time soon. I remember back when I was in high school there was a period of time where you could get a debit card with your own custom image printed on it. I believe ANZ still does it, the rules are a little limiting but still is better than nothing, too bad I'm not with them.

I glued yugioh cards to each side of my public transit card and trimmed the small amount of excess so that it looks like a yugioh card lol.

  • All my cards are pleb cards, no fancy design or materials. Probably the Westpac altitude black is the head serf of the pleb cards, has a concierge function I've never tested and don't have any expectations of.

Personally like the minimialist white on white look of the cba business credit card, very clean.

  • Personally, ANZ Frequent Flyer Black card has the best design, look like metal. I got the Amex charge card, it’s metal one, but looks boring with one silver color.
