Have the 20000 one from a previous deal. Can recommend.

    • +1

does it charge an ipad pro with USB-C or is the USB-C only an input?

      • +2

yes. it's USB C PD output

        • +2

Oh is the USB-C an output too? That was my only gripe with the product - even a little sheet explaining the capability of each port would've been good.

          • @aragornelessar: Here is the input/output info:

            Lightning - Input only 5V/2.1A
            Micro USB - Input only 5V/2A, 9V/2A

            USB-A - Output only 5V/2.1A
            USB-A QC - Output only 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A

            USB-C Input - 5V/2A, 9V/2A
            USB-C Output - 5V/2A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A

Maximum total simultaneous output - 3A

          • @aragornelessar: My previous deal linked has what each port does 😉

I got the 20,000mAh one from the deal last week as I liked the previous Romoss products I've bought. The USB-C port worked as expected when charging my iPad Pro.

Today, I charged my iPhone X via the USB QC port and an Apple Watch via the regular USB port and was surprised it was only outputting a combined 1.7A. With the watch removed, the phone received 1.4A, even though it is capable of more. On the regular USB port, the iPhone X only got 1A.

For reference, the USB QC is rated for up to 5V 3A while the regular USB port is rated up to 5V 2.1A.

I was a bit disappointed at that, it's even slower than the 2.1A port of my old Romoss power bank. I will test it out further to see if it's possible to get a higher amperage when charging the iPhone.

Also, the maximum amperage output across all three ports is 3A, so if you're charging an USB-C iPad Pro while charging other devices via the other USB ports, I imagine either the other ports won't charge or you're not gonna get 3A out of the USB-C port.

  • Previously cheaper ?

    • +1

Yes, this deal is $1.75 more expensive than the last promotions they ran.

  • The 20000 MaH type-c (the one in your thumbnail) seems to be $34.99 for me.

      • I am. If I follow your link it shows 29.74, but when I go via Shopback it's 34.99. Not sure what's going on.

Edit: found the problem: Turns out I'm a moron. Sorry for wasting your time.

Ha! All good, no harm in asking ;)

I have both the Romoss Type-C 20000mAh and Xiaomi 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2C. The size and weight difference between the two is quite noticeable. I was hoping to use the Romoss for travels as it is more convenient with the multiple ports. However, once you consider the weight and size between the two, you might consider taking the Xiaomi instead.

    • Don't have another 20000mah power bank to compare but it is definitely a bit heavy and bulky even if I compare against two Xiaomi 10000mah power banks.

    • which one is better for charging though? and durability

      • +1

I haven't tried to see which one charges faster, however the Romoss is very convenient with 3 charging input options vs 1. Durability, they feel similar, both are plastic, but feel well made. However, as the Romoss feels substantially heavier than the Xiaomi, I feel that it won't fair as well if dropped. I really like the LED display that shows the battery capacity.

    • Does it mean the Xiaomi is not true 20000mAh?

  • Would recommend the Kogan ones. Got one when they had free shipping deal. They are good. I prefer them over xiaomi

  • Does anyone know if this can charge a surface pro 3? TIA

  • can the 30,000 be bought on planes? also any discount on that?

    • +2

You'd need airline permission to take onto planes as it's over 100Wh. Usually via email or at check in.

I'll have a deal on that in the coming weeks.

      • +1

        such quick reply..

      • I wonder how that's calculated though? Wouldn't the Watt Hour's be based on what's being connected to it?

        • Watt hour is Ah X volts, so if 5V is the correct voltage to use 30Ah X 5V = 150Wh. But then 20Ah X 5V is already 100Wh. Maybe the manufacturers don't use 5V when they calculate the Ah.

So to answer your question about doesn't it depend on what is connected, actually the watt hours is constant for the battery and the amp hours would depend on what voltage the battery outputs at. I don't know why powerbanks are all advertised by their amp hours rather than watt hours because watt hour is the unit that measures energy.

          • @Kelstorm: 3.6 or 3.7V is the correct voltage to use.

          • +1

            @Kelstorm: powerbank Wh is 3.7v x 20000mAH = 74Wh

    • +3

can the 30,000 be bought on planes?

I'm sure they don't sell power banks on the planes!

      • LOL dang, can't edit. You win 👍

  • which one better this one or xiaomi one? the one i like seemed on this is the digital indicator

  • OP,Can this charge a Dell XPS13 via USB-C ? Thanks in Advance

    • +1

Very much doubt it. Haven't tried a XPS13 but none of the similar laptops I tried would charge.
I expect they need 20V on USB-C but it's very hard to find these specs anywhere.

  • OP, Any deals on the ROMOSS with built-in cable?

  • +1

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the 20k felt in the hand from the other deal. Smooth edges and a nice weight. Yes it’s larger than the power banks we are all used to but not overly so. That was my first Romoss so may grab the 10k as well at this price.

  • +1

Cheers OP got this for free because the WD 10TB pricing error a few weeks back w /prime :)

  • Will I need to buy a wall charger just to charge this thing? How would the charger cost? Thanks.

  • Is the 10400 bigger or smaller dimensions than the Xiaomi ?

  • I think it's time to sign up Amazon prime….
