  Sorry to ask a n0oB question..: Other than turning a light on when you're out, is there any other reason to have a wifi-controlled light? I seem to be getting by with my circa 1800's tech.

    These are dimmable light bulbs and they don't require a dimmer switch.

    Also a variety of rules you can apply like scheduling the lights to go on or off at a certain time (useful for exterior lights)

  Can you make these slowly brighten up for a wake up light?

  If not - can anyone recommend one (like Xiaomi?) that is the round about the same price and can be programmed like a wake up light?
