      I studied for a year doing a nightclass at a local uni. It was very cheap and good to meet with fellow learners. I also recommend Duolingo, Memrise and YouTube ('Talk to Me in Korean' is a good one). I'm not into K-pop or K-dramas but if that interests you can try to immerse yourself in it. Don't try to understand the language in English terms, it is very different to English. Learning Korean has really changed the way I see English grammar and syntax.

    North Korean or South Korean?

      They originate from the same language but due to the long time the 2 countries have been seperated, there are distinct differences. There is actually an app to help North Koreans who escape and are granted asylum to understand the Korean used in South Korea. For example, English words that have been brought into Korean like icecream (아이스크림) or sandwich (샌드위치) aren't used in North Korea.

      These resources would be teaching the general or Seoul dialect. It's amazing how many 사투리(dialects) there are in Korean.
