I'm not sure which would be more dangerous, their job or going to dreamworld…

They want them there in case things get dicey

If the diggers from some of the units I was in took up the offer it would be more dangerous for the general public when they were on the rides. i remember being on a tactics course at Canungra (Gold Coast hinterland) and the Army putting on a bus over the weekend to take us all down to the theme parks. I can only imagine the chaos if one of the Battalions at Enoggera decided to collectively take them up on their offer. Good luck to any uni students in costumes on a ghost ride jumping out for scares on a ghost ride etc, might be met with some PTSD induced retaliation!!!!

    This is very U.S.A.

    • Yes it is, they misspelt Defence, using the incorrect American spelling (OP). ;)

      • Oops haha thanks

Yeah I'm seeing more and more of this shit.

    • Oh God, I hope that "thank-you for your service" BS doesn't get popular here.

Garbage collectors are more likely to die on the job than police patrol officers.

I won't say no to a free ticket though.

While doctors/nurses arenโ€™t eligible for this campaign, we thank you for your dedication and hard work to support our community ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Probably slightly less risk involved in a hospital vs a burning building.

Actually, with the level of violence that health care workers experience, it might be a safer job as a fire fighter.

    • Probably more offensive to explicitly say "yeah, nah" to medics and nursing staff than to just not mention it.
Would be great if they converged in their thousands to demand entry… but more likely to be at work preserving life instead.

  • Shame they didn't take me up on the offer of a free safety inspection on the rides (just general observation and informed opinion about potential problematic areas with no access required where the public weren't allowed). The reputation they've gained is going to live a long life (unlike some of their guests).

Did the same thing on the P&O Pacific Dawn. Sent my report in. A month later a woman jumped off the side in the exact spot I said they needed to improve the fencing… oh well… FML…

G-string swimwear or underwear as swimming attire is not allowed.

    Deal breaker.

    Thank you for your service.

  • I'm still finding it funny that they let sworn officers in for free. So many corrupt and incompetent cops in Queensland it's not funny!
