Amazon Shipping to PO Box

has anyone else noticed in the last few weeks there have been changes with Amazon not allowing deliveries to Po boxes or Parcel lockers. I used to have this happen sometimes and could have items redirected using the Aus post app but even now this isnt allowed for some stupid reason.

That's so annoying - if I get anything delivered to my home address it would be stolen or I'd be directed to collect from an inconvenient post office :(

    • You can choose to be in control , sign up for parcel collect , select the post office you want the delivery to go .
My parcels generally go to post office near work ,I duck out during lunch time and grab my parcels.

      • That does help a little as then I can direct to the post office that is open Saturday mornings, but would rather use the parcel locker whenever possible so I can collect any day of the week. From other replies it sounds like they do still let you deliver to parcel lockers which is great!

  • Was it shipped by Amazon direct? They use aus post so po box should be ok. I had 3 items from Amazon delivered to my po box last week.

  • Not really? I sent a parcel to the post office from Amazon and picked up yesterday without issue and typically send things to a parcel locker because i live in an apartment block, so maybe its for certain items or items located in certain areas? I think they may not do it for certain types of deliveries as well because they can't do it on time as they use a courier?

I hope they don't do this, because its so much easier picking up from parcel locker. Will say though I have had issues with Aus Post in delivery which is annoying. Not sure if helpful but amazon does have heaps of parcel pick up location and I find it much faster and easier (open for longer).

  • Are you buying batteries? I send everything from Amazon to my POBox, only thing that doesn't work is anything that contains Batteries.

  • Maybe Amazon are using couriers, who will not deliver to PO Box or Parcel Collect

  • I know there is one particular item I bought from Amazon Us (in Au site) regularly that doesn't allow to box. The rest of items from AU even most Amazon US item still ok for po box.

  • Nope. I just picked up mine from parcel locker 2 days ago and 2 more is on their way to the same parcel locker. All from amazon

  • Still working fine for me. Are you sure you're buying stuff from Amazon.com.au?

  • Yeah I couldn’t deliver to my parcel locker. I bought a power bank so maybe it’s just battery devices.

I just send stuff to work instead.

No. Ordered something on Monday, delivered yesterday to my PO Box.

  • Noticed this for the first time today too, sold and shipped by amazon.com.au but refused to accept my usual PO Box as a delivery address… really frustrating for the same reason as it being less secure, anyone can just pick up the parcel when it's left unattended.

Have no idea why they've done that, have had no issues with PO Box deliveries in the past.

Assuming Amazon au has switched delivery companies?

    • What was the item?

  • Every single other delivery has been to be my PO Box except for today… it was a memory stick, which I've ordered before.

    • Strange. I've has 3 x Amazon deliveries this week. 2 x to P.O Box and third contained a battery and went to home.

      • Yeah I don't get it, I chose the free shipping option which I've noticed has dropped from minimum spend of $49 to $39, so only guess is a different shipping company for the free option which isn't Auspost?

        • Was delivered by courier, must be the new free option.
