Could also pricebeat at Officeworks to $368.60

  • Beast of a router. I swear by mine!

  • it looks like a drone!

  • This modem is OK but the router function is shit!
You better go with an Asus.
Have a look at the review before buying. I regret mine

  • I have one. It is good except for the reboot issue. Make sure to update firmware right out the box. S
Till happened a few times afterwards but mostly stable. Good reach for sure as we have double bricked walls but no drop in internet which was severe with my old Asus N55.

    • whats the reboot issue? takes forever to restart?

      • No. It turns off and then boots up on its own for no reason. The firmware update mentioned it will fix it. Hasn't done that for a while now.

  • Had this modem and it dropped Wifi connection on a daily basis, upgraded firmware and the problem still persisted.. Wouldn't recommend tbh..

  • I personally didn't have any reboot issue, except that any options changed in the settings will require a reboot which can be a bit annoying! You can easily reboot it 3-4 times to set it up and it takes a long time but you don't change those options very often.

Also some connections issues but they finally fix them 1 year later with the latest firmware. Issue was devices such as smart TV, robot vaccum would loose the wifi connection and you will have to completely reset the modem settings.

You can read about people complaining in the whirlpool forum.

  • I was just search a good modem for my mate on MSY. They are selling it on $339. looks good, but not sure if the modem is good or not.

  • this may be a nice router - except the OS Sucks. No granular support for more advanced users functions, one function that would be have been really helpful is a better QOS policy concept; theres is totally chunky, and way to dumbed down. would highly suggest putting DDwrt: role back the OS to a previous version and install.

if you are a more advnaced user. Get one of these and do yourself a favour::

    • Or just get a Unifi USG and UAP-AC-PRO or UAP-nanoHD.

  • Is it better to buy Wifi 6 router/modem for future proof at this point?
