Please don't use this instead of a regular halogen headlamp, this blinds people on the other side of the road. This needs dedicated housing like the projector headlamps ( If I'm not wrong of course)

    • +6

That is correct and most DIYers don't angle them properly anyways so the shoot directly onto eye level for incoming traffic.
Plus 6500k is illegal anyways. So blue/white

      • +4

Can the admin remove this kind of item if it is illegal to use this in Australia?

        • +2

I wouldn't have thought admins want to make decisions on what's legal or not. Can of worms.
They might decide to take it down for any other reason though.

        • +1

          I think they should too.

          • +1

@otter-raptor: neg and report the deal

            • @rayn7x: They've added "These are not street legal" now, so letting it go unreported, but still neg to create visibility

        • +3

Might be handy to people living on a farm etc that don't drive on public roads

    • I'm intrigued - how do these dazzle other drivers more than say a bright halogen? Is it just the light intensity?

      • +4

From Google : "According to official stats, a xenon bulb produces 3000 lumens and 90 mcd/m2, while a halogen light generates 1400 lumens and 30 mcd/m2."

This thing puts out 9000lm theoritically, now official LED headlamps have projectors on them that focuses the beams on the road for high lumens, but ones designed for Halogens are not designed to do that, they are regular reflective type

This is highly dangerous when used on a car not designed for such headlamps, also illegal to run anything past 3600K approx(not sure of right number) and this is double that- dazzles the other road users.

        • +4

You are correct. The light colour is illegal (up to around 4300K is street legal), and the brightness is far beyond that of a normal Halogen bulb (not that I believe these things are really 9000 Lumens, but still).

The wattage is also beyond that of a normal bulb, so you may have electrical problems to deal with too. And my experience with cheap LED of whatever type is that they do not last and are often hazardous. Nobody should put something like this in a car that would cost hundreds or thousands to repair if dodgy part causes damage.

Last but not least: using parts that are not street legal can theoretically void your insurance.

    • +1

Wait this seems like a pretty good deal. Why the neg? These would go well in my paddock basher or my off-road only use spotlights.

    • +1

Replying to neg - what you just said. 6,500k of low CRI = glare city.

  • -1

How can i check if this will fit my Toyota corolla 2008 model..

    • +8

No. You have reflector housings, you'll blind every oncoming driver.

    • -7

just choose the right light type as the same as your original car light type, for example, if your original light type is h4, you just need to buy the h4. if you don't sure of the light type of your car, you can describe your car model in detail(including the car model year, etc.)

    • +3

Please don't use these headlamps in the Corolla, you will only cause trouble to oncoming users and God forbid cause a collision

      • All you have to do is adjust the level of the headlight and they are fine I run these on my 92 corolla and I dont blind anyone cause I took the time to adjust them properly .

        • +4

Unfortunately you would be in the minority of people who do the right thing and also the reflectors are not suited for such high outputs by design ,so I think you can minimise the dazzle, but not eliminate it IMO, YMMV

        • How do you adjust the level of the headlight? Is it just rotating it?

          • @CVonC: The best I bought had was able to rotate. And you can adjust the height on most headlights .

  • will these fit X-trail 2016 (T32) model?

  • Can't select the H4 model which supports low and high beam. The only model available is 9006 which is single beam

    • Rep only 9006 is available

  • +9

I have LED lights just in my high beams for the very reason to blind the morons installing these in low beams.

    • Great use of them 😂

    • Lol never thought about that hahaha

  • Any experience with this brand of LED bulbs? They're very cheap if the stats are correct!

    • +1

If the cheap HIDs are anything to go by they won't last. Something's bound to go whether is be the inbuilt fan or one of the COB chips

  • +5

I have to neg this. It claims to be 9000LM, which is 6 times as bright as a normal bulb. Seriously? And they are not even legal to use anyway. Wattage too high, light colour too blue to be legal…

    • -1

      In driving lights?

      Offroad?

      At home?

      Are all these illegal also?

  • +1

Great addition for my dirt bike. Mine takes a H4 bulb and the halogen in it is pretty dim due to the stator not putting out enough watts to run it to it's fullest brightness. Can get a bit sketchy when the rides go into the arvo on overcast winter days. This should hopefully run a fair bit brighter due to the lower wattage requirements.

Can't go wrong for the price to see if it works a bit better. Cheers.

  • +2

I had the H4 verison a couple years back

    1. Special powerful two ball fan with 12,000RPM which accelerate the cooling rate.

That fan is definitely audible inside the cabin.

Regarding the light intensity, even on low beam, that thing is bright as daylight and almost 180° wide, illuminates 3 lanes on your side.

after a few weeks, i put back halogens and sold the car.

Nighteye has the fanless model as well, but still too bright for legal use.

  • +1

I also think this bluish 6500K LED light is illegal. Plus changing to LED bulbs brighter than 2000 lumens is illegal too.

    • -3

      Really?

Got a link to the relevant ADR's?

  • +2

    Illegal to use.

Post will stay but I'm sure my neg will be revoked. Typical oz-b

    • and see how many ppl comment get neg, lol

  • +2

Careful with these led lights, they blind the shit out of people. Especially truck drivers, i bought these exact pair a while ago and had to remove them after they were causing so many problems. The lumens are too high on them and the angle of projection is too steep

  • What are these light in projector headlights? Do they still dazzle?

  • This is perfect on our atrocious night road driving conditions where everything is pitch black.
