  • How much you does it normally sell for?

in Aug last year, paid $27

Great product, great seller and great support

I got the VG15S in Aug last year, paid $27 :(

Great torch and very bright, or so I thought before I got ThorFire BLF Q8 :)

Now that I have 50 odd torches I don't use the VG15S a lot but lend it, with a protected Blazar 18650, to people who don't know lumens from lemons to give them an idea of how handy a good, bright torch is.

What I particularly like about the VG15S is that you can reverse the battery tube so instead of a pocket clip you have a hat clip - attach it to your cap visor and use it has a head torch. Worked well when we had a blackout and Jr and I cooked dinner on the BBQ outside - VG15S on my hat, TG06S on Jr's cap.

FWIW, this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-BLAZAR-NCR-18650-B-3400mAh-Sos… was the first battery/charger combo I purchased. Not the most cost effective but from a reliable source

    • +2

      More cost effective version:

      2 x Sanyo 18650GA 3500mAh $17

      1 x 2 Bay charger From $17

      Total: $35/+

    • Why 50 torches?

      • +6

I presume to keep the lighting level above 7 across his property to avoid mob spawns.

        • Coal and sticks are more effective as torches :)

      • It's addictive. I'm in rehab ie wife will make life unpleasant if I purchase more torches.

Like cars, bikes, boats, knives, guns, BBQ's, nail polish there is a different torch for different application/situation.

You can modify torches, change LEDS, driver, switches, springs etc. Buy a cheap torch and modify it to be a hotrod.

      You are an EDC champion.

    • what is the difference between VG10S &VG15S?

      why same price?

  • I've got the old VG10 and the VG15S. Both are good lights, however I find the driver in the VG15S that I have to be a bit annoying due to a slight delay when changing modes. Most people probably wouldn't even notice it though.

My favourite TF light is probably the TK15S, it gets more edc use than any of my other lights. For LOLs I tried to edc the Q8 for a week over summer. I barely got to the end of day 4 when I decided that idea wasn't as fun as I thought it would be and swapped back to my usual edc lights.

    • is tk15s better than these one sold here?

also is the vg15s better than than vg10s
and why is it priced the same here?

  • +2

its a pity this doesn't use AAs or I could further justify my eneloop stash.

    • +2

It's a good thing they don't, the power would be too low.

    • +3

Grab this then. Doesn't get nearly as bright with AA cells, but if you feel adventurous you can put a 14500 cell in it and you'll get 500ish proper lumens from it.

If the Thorfire rep is watching this thread, they could always offer to sell it for $16.99 as well ;)

  • Got a couple of TK15s from this deal, similar spec, excellent torch

    • which is better?

      • -1

        The TK15. Both of them.

        • +1

          your answering is confusing

          you say tk15
then you say both of them????

  • yea. but should i buy it?

    • If it sometimes gets dark where you live, then yes. Yes you should. It gets very dark where i live, so i bought two.

  • Looking for Thor hammer

    • new one or old one?

Old one (limited budget ). have tried Gumtree but no luck

        • Yeh my sister broke mine.

    What's the difference between two?

  • 2.5 weeks delivery time to Perth, WA OP?

  • Hows this compare to Zanflare F1? I bought one, haven't bought batteries yet but I believe it charges through USB.

Always good to have a spare ;p

    • USB charging is a plus for me.

    • I've got a few Zanflare F1's. The usb charging is good, means you don't need to bring a 18650 charger whilst travelling.

  • How much is the battery?

    • +2

      about tree fiddy

  • What type of battery and price of battery?

    • +1

They use 18650 battery. Check ebay for prices I guess.

    • A lot.

  • +1

    VG15S is not available anymore

  • +1

VG15S showing as $32.99? am i doing it wrong?

  • Oops. Purchased the VH15s a while ago for $32.

  • Can you recommend any flashlights with equivalent pricing that take regular AAA/AA batteries?

  • I bought several without thinking.

Gentlemen: I have reached peak torch.

My house is a shambles of oversize TVs, torches and Chinese androids.

    Time to detox.

  • I should have investigated further. I assumed That ThorFire AU was selling stock that was already in Australia. Guess I'll be waiting a few weeks.

    • Okay I'm confused. Amazon has a tracking number from China Post, the invoice on Amazon says shipped from Shenzhen, but it just rocked up today (very conveniently at the same time as my charger and battery) from NSW. So I guess it is Australian stock.

      • which model did you buy?

do you know if there is any differences?

        • I got the VG15S, and I don't know what the differences are. But it is a very nice torch. Quite a solid body, good construction quality.

          • @AdosHouse: big is it in length and diameter?

it is hard to tell from the photos

            • @pinkybrain: 124mm long, 25mm wide.
