    Have had exposure and experience with arlo stuff. Good marketing, shit product.

    Anyone that tells you they are great has never really used high quality wired (poe) cameras.

    If you just need something wireless, with an app and cloud access these are "ok" at best. Blueiris/milestone and poe cameras destroy the arlo offerings for privacy, speed/performance and features.

        Wireless in general is a bad idea for home security camera applications. If you are restricted to using it, sure go wireless. With Arlo and most other manufacturers that provide similar products, this is worsened by the cloud connectivity requirements. You must be connected to the internet for the product to work.

        I'm not aware of any other manufacturers that can provide the same feature set without these shortcomings for a wireless product. So you're right, it's not apples for apples… but I'm just putting it out there as the prices aren't very different between the two solutions. If someone doesn't need wireless they should strongly consider wired.

          I'm renting, so not many options. This seems to be the best option for me. Also will work as a door bell

    Arlo stuff is a mixed bag. Works as promised but not in a very good and smooth way and non existent support. I have Arlo pro 2 with 5 cameras.

    However, I don't know of any other better wireless camera product for an average consumer, hence they can get away with charging stupid amounts of money for a subpar product.

    Thanks OP. Pulled the trigger. Wish the accessories for this Ultra model were in stock in Qantas store like the solar panel, battery and cable. Well, will wait for it.
