  • I thought gamestop was going under lol

  • +1

NASA duffel bag and 8bit Horror Funko Pops are out of stock, unfortunately.

It looks like we are unable to ship to your selected shipping address. Please confirm that you've entered the address correctly or try another one.

    • Same issue here.

    • Me too.

    • me too

    • some items have always been US restricted for licensing reasons or some bs. if you go to checkout it will tell you at the bottom which ones. also on the product pages under the buy button it says 'shipping restrictions' in tiny writing.

  • +7

The shipping is quite high, and the high US dollar doesn't help it, either. Some interesting products but even 50% off isn't all that competitive vs EB Games/Zing Pop Culture. The best deals might be for the various Bags of Holding.

Kinda sad to see it go even though it's always been so pricey to get shipped down bere

Agree, these guys have been around since before Slashdot went mad. Back in the day what they sold was really unique and different. Always wanted a "got root?" t-shirt.

I've got a few t-shirts of theirs, pretty low quality, cheap fit, so I've not been eager to buy more.

You can print cups and so on pretty easily these days through Snapfish, etc.

  • A lot of items listed are out of stock

    • +1

It's almost like they're clearing stock before they move sites.

    • +1

Pretty much everything anyone would want is out of stock.

  • -1

This is a pretty piss poor deal. I'll retract my statement if 10 people actually manage to purchase the things they want.

  • +1

Just blew a $350 hole in the wallet because I stupidly handed the computer to the wife and said "do you want anything?"

Postage has always been high but you spend enough it becomes worth it once you get economies to scale or if you buy larger items. A few years ago I bought some star wars stools from them and the postage was only $60 or something.

    • +2

star wars stools… one of Chewies??! 🤣

    • yeah big stuff on sale has always been amazing for some reason. i got a borg cube rug a couple years ago.

    • +1

can you tell us what you got? i wanted literally $1500 worth but i was sensible and just got two things. but i can always live vicariously through others

      • Kingdom Hearts Mickey and Donald statue
        Wonder Woman Justice League Wallet
        Mario Pipe toothbrush holder
        Mario Pipe soap dish
        Mario Pipe soap dispenser
        Unicorn Sconce Wall Light
        My Hero Academia TShirt
        Kingdom Hearts wallet
Attack on Titan Scout Regiment wallet
Harry Potter Mini Bell Jar Lights - Harry, Hermoene and Ron versions
        Wonder Woman jewellery set
        Harry Potter Sherpa Hoodie

Of that the only thing I got was the Mario bathroom stuff. The rest was the wife. Why she needs a bunch of wallets is a mystery to me. She's clearly hiding money from me.

        • ooooo thanks for sharing

LOL. does she use them as purses? - then obviously she would need many. ;)

i'm thinking of getting a Hagrid bell jar elsewhere…

          • @bargain huntress: I'm not telling her there's a hagrid. Those hideous things are now sitting on my mantle

            • @SirFlibbled: hahahahaha

there's also dumbledore, hedwig, luna, voldemort, and a snitch. so enough to FILL the mantle if she ever googles it.

What a shame. I always enjoyed browsing the ThinkGeek website, even if I only paid for international shipping a couple of times

    • +1

Ditto. Their listing copies are hilarious. Another fine web site disappearing

  • +2

    End of an era.

Postage was always a killer though. In saying that, I bought a unicorn mug a few years back which arrived broken and they sent a new one out free of charge.

  • +1

They're just moving to Gamestop.. Are they still going to be called ThinkGeek?

    • are they though? it says a 'curated selection' will be at gamestop…

      • what does that mean?

      • +2

i'm betting it's cutesy speak for "much smaller range."

  • Code can't be applied?? Can't work out why

Edit: Found out why. It defaults to free ship on mobile site. Free ship is incompatible with the code. Also some items can't be shipped outside US, but you can't determine this or turn off free shipping whilst there are such items in your cart.

That stinks, I wanted the chain chomp lamp.

    • if you scroll to the bottom of the checkout page it tells you, at least on desktop

      • +1

Yes i had to use desktop to trouble shoot. Originally i was on mobile

  • I'm a bit devastated.
