    Glenfiddich!

    • I love it straight on a cold cold night.

  • Anyone know if its 1 per customer or one of each per customer?

    • Must present coupon, 1 coupon per customer per day.

So I assume you need three copies of the paper (3 separate coupons) and go in each day for 1 of each of the deals.

      hope this helps.

    • Please elaborate as a number of people -myself included - have had it honoured in the past.

      • -2

Please tell us WHICH Dan Murphys and/or First-Choice you used?

ERINA (NSW) and TUGGERAH (NSW) both refused to honor a GetWinesDirect printout, and I had to take them to NSW Department of Fair Trading. And they replied:

First Choice policy is only to pricematch within 5 kilometres of a store's physical location, including any online warehouse location.

Dan Murphy's policy is only to pricematch within 2 kilometres of the physical location, and do not pricematch ANY online store.

        It's all a big scam!

        • +4

I think everyone knows about the 5km/10km thing by now, the title also says Vic only. Dans and First Choice both match up to 10km away, and I've had no problem getting this deal (almost every week for the last year or so) being around 20km away.

It's not a scam; they only price match where you could actually receive the initial deal. Probably not worth the trip to Richmond from NSW to get cheap grog!

        • +1

Aha! Well now I understand, that is why I put this in:

"Usual story, get copy of Melbourne Herald Sun (and often Thursday Age) match at Dan Murphy or First Choice within a certain distance - this varies. Assume many DM stores have potentially hidden all stock to suddenly re-appear after deal ends."

        • you need the original, not a printout, and the Dan Murphy policy is the store must be within 10km… it's not an online store, it's in Richmond

        • +2

do you note NSW DPT response on both stores price matching policy?

policy, being a form of contract, has conditions. you are not paying attention to those conditions so they can hardly be called scammers.

people who have the price match honoured outside of these distances are fortunate. you are not fortunate.

          It's hardly a scam.

though go luck attempting to price match tsingtao beer from a shanghai bottle shop with uncle dans!

    • Was it the Peroni that you wanted?

Oh, the 5/10 KM rule… they've always upheld that rule haven't they?

      • Yes and Yes.

    • That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard all day.

  • There have been instances where people have had it price matched outside of the 10k, but not sure if it was interstate or just country Victoria.

      • +5

You've already been informed, its for VIC (and most likely Melbourne) only! Personally I've got this at a number of places around Melbourne without any trouble, and know a lot of other people who do the same each Wednesday. As you are not in Victoria, the deal doesn't apply to you.

Hello accc-free. Please uderstand I am just trying to help the Ozbargain community by posting the deal and I thought the title and description were quite clear.
You are welcome to go back and search previous listings to see who has obtained the deal and where. At no stage did I imply that you can obtain this deal oustside of Victoria and if I did I apologise.
        Good luck.

It's all good…keep posting stuff, Rocket.

I wasn't whinging about you, nor your offers.

10 km's away from Richmond isn't exactly country Victoria. Has anyone had any success price matching with any DM or 1st Choices stores around Bundoora area?

    • +3

I've had no problem at the Mulgrave store, probably a similar distance to Richmond than Bundoora. Also have a workmate who got it in Frankston without any problems, seems like they are price-mathcing across Melbourne.

      • Thanks, will give it a go.

        • Same with Glen Waverley/ Rowville

          Never any problems

        • Let us know how you go. Where is DM or 1C in Bundoora though? 0.o Preston?

        • +2

Got it at Dan Murphy's Epping without any problems. As soon as I asked about a price match they asked if it was the Peroni, so I obviously wasn't the first.

The garage is stacked nearly to the ceiling with asahi, corona etc but how can you pass peroni for 30 bucks!

    • your beer will go off

      • for those beers…. how could you tell? ;)

      • +1

not unless it's downed before the use by date (6 months). Think that will be manageable

  • +16

how can you pass peroni for 30 bucks!

by buying it, drinking it and then urinating?

Just had it priced matched at DM in Dandenong Rd East Malvern. They have about 30 cases left in store.

  • 2 cases left at DM's in Prahran at 1:30 - they also price matched.

The guy at the counter had a separate barcode next to the till for the deal. It scanned at $29.80.

    • -2

      Nice.

DM must've created a barcode specially for this, as they had so many pricematch customers.

I take what I said about DM back.

However, I still stand by the fact that First-Choice are scam merchants and refuse to pricematch.

Which suburb?. I have no problem with my local 1st choice, in fact their supply on GWD promo beers is alot more than DW on Wednesday. More often than not there's a whole pallet full in the morning, whereas DW is like 5-10 slabs on the floor. Makes me wonder if they're hiding the other half.

      • your location is Sydney.
why would they go against their own policy.
DM Prahran is less than 5 kms from Richmond (probably 3kms)- which is outside their 5 km policy range but big deal.

are you like 5 years old?

  • +1

About 10 cases left at DM's QV Vic at 12.30 - No problem in Price Matching

  • The Glenfiddich is a good deal, the Johnnie Walker Black Label is only slightly less than its usual price of $38..

  • Okay, I'm going slightly insane. I've looked through the herald sun three times now and still haven't been able to locate the getwinesdirect ad. Never had a problem finding it in the past.
Can someone please tell me where it's located in the paper?
    Thanks.

    • On the back of the "Switched On" section page 20

      • Oh, that explains it.. I just realised the paper I bought is missing that section altogether.
I wonder if someone dodgy grabbed it to get another coupon.
Pissed off I have to go get another paper, but also relieved I am not actually blind/insane.
        Thanks Rocket.

  • +1

Dan's in Richmond has about 30 slabs left

    • +1

Yep, heaps still there. I actually went to GWD first and was informed it was cash only, teach me to not read the coupon. The guy said I could go to an ATM down the road…… Or I could just go to the DM and price match!! HAHAHA FAIL!

  • Still about 10 cases at DM's in Dandenong Rd East Malvern at 5:30

  • Mum just picked up 2 bottles of Johnnie Black at DM's in Prahran with no problem.

    • So DMs lets you buy more than 1 bottle per customer?

      • +1

She said she did it in 2 transactions. One at the front of the store and then walked through to the back. I come from good stock :-)

  • +2

Unfortunately not in today's Age; can't bring myself to buy the Herald Sun ;)

  • Has anyone had success redeeming these prices in W.A stores?

  • really looking forward for this one tomorrow ,,wish i had more than one coupon though :-(
