Officeworks will probably beat the price by 5%

    • out of stock for most of Sydney stock

Wait an additional 2 months for the new iphones in September.

  • I would expect more deals like this as stores try to move stock in preparation for new phones in September. I know I am on the lookout to take advantage.

Called up a jbhifi store and told them that officeworks would price match and then give me 5% discount which brought the phone down the $1234.05 and asked would they be able to match the officeworks price. After guy spoke to his manager he agreed to give it to me for this price. Side note: had gift cards from telstra sim only plan that i wanted to use so needed to get the phone at jb hifi.

Went to the jb hifi store and picked it up - happy days

  • Too bad no red or even blue

    • You can ask them. Pitt St had some stock of red colour at that price.

Gee iPhones are expensive. I understand some people prefer iOS but you can buy a Pixel 3a for $649 or $799 for 3a XL.

Great phone, we have 2 x 64gb white here, can't say where i got them from as some here get upset lol. Brand new and each one was $600 below this price though ;)

    • Where did you get it $600 below this price ?

      • +1

i think i know this guy, he claimed to get them below $700 in 2 other posts. he said gumtree.

    • How so? Pm me if u think others will flame u…

      • Gum tree. Seen him brag about buying phones below RRP in almost every phone post lol

  • may as well get an iPhone XS. paid $1392 for mine back in December

    • 256gb?

      • no 64gb. but the better camera, screen make up for it. plus i haven't used half of 64gb yet.

        • Was there a deal for 1392?

  • iphone never drop in price. iphone 7 is more expensive than newly release mid tier phones with way higher specs. i'd buy them if the older versions were just slightly more expensive compared to other brands of same release date, to see wat all the fuss is about. but no, they stubbornly keep the prices high on 3 and 4 year old models.

  • For anyone that currently uses an iPhone XR, do you miss 3D Touch at all?

    • +1

Nope, had a xs max before it.

    • +1

yes, constantly. regret my decision so much. don't go XR if you're coming from using 3D touch in the past.

      • How about Haptic Touch? Not quite a replacement? Or it hasn’t rolled out yet?

        • +1

hasn't rolled out fully yet, but it's a requirement in the XR for some features such as changing flashlight brightness. i've tried it and it is the worst. it's unreliable, takes longer and is a massive pain. I used to be able to quickly activate it and have nice taptic feedback when I did, now there's a big delay and if i move my finger it doesn't work and i have to start the process from the beginning. so no, not for me it doesn't work as a replacement. seriously considering just upgrading to the XS at a cheaper price in a few years if the new phones doesn't have 3D Touch.

My mum has IPXr and i have mi8lite. I personally prefer mi8lite over ip. Ip xr surprisingly so bulky..unbelievable. just my 2c.

    • +1

Wondering why neg? As in im comparing different price range phone? Or misleading as in bulky? Or neg for giving personal opinion as i did have chance to compare two phones? Anyway

      • getting negged on ozb should be consider a badge of honor

      • +1

Don't stress mate with the neg. Alot of people are too touchy to different views.

  • Bought one of these (blue) a few weeks ago on Ebay with 10% sales.
This comes out cheaper, so a great deal. Even with a holiday coming up and me getting GST off the full price (1479) I still come out behind compared to this deal.

    • Yep then pay it again when you declare it on return :)

      • shhhhh…
Did that one for a lens I bought, felt like a sucker because no one does it. So won't be doing it again.

  • looks like price is back up to $1,479 :(
