For those who aren't Google one members, it starts from $2.49/Month for 100GB and you can pay via rewards credit.

You can redeem the offer via website or Google One app (benefits tab).

Once you rent your movie, you’ll have 30 days to watch it before it expires and 48 hours to finish watching once you start

  Yes, you can download for offline viewing.
  
  I did this before my last flight and it was great not being interrupted by all the initial announcements which wreck the onboard entertainment system.
