Poll- Should I Post or Should Not Post?

Good Evening all Ozbargainers,

Been a member of Ozbargain for a long time.
I am in the Floors and Blinds industry.
I wanted to post new deals but don't seem many people are posting deal on flooring and blinds, it's just more like advertisements and gets flamed by users.

So I wanted to ask the community should I or Should I not post this is a deal.

The product I wanted to promote and share is the Vinyl planks Direct stick type 228.6mm x 1219x 5mm, they offered me 3 colours limited stock of 3000sm2.

This type of product is design for commercial application 0.7mm Commercial Wear layer, plenty of wear for residential. When I Create a page and product I will, of course, give more in-depth details.

The manufacturer gave us an RRP to sell it as $59pm2 Supply only, BUT I thought I'll give back ozbargain community at a rate of $27pm2

I will give options for installation or DIY.

But the Ultimate question is the POLL

Honestly the only way you will survive on this website is to post the deal - then leave it be.
If its a good deal and people love it, great.
If people decides to be jackasses and flame - ignore it.
The deals will sort themselves out.
I think your particular post will have limited appeal, but you just never know.

    • Thanks, mate for your feedback. Been in this industry for more than 15 years, the deal I wanted to offer is, I do know is a super zuper deal. Compared to the market nothing comes close.
Just don't want to get flamed.

There you go, mate. You're in the industry and you yourself know that it's a zuper deal. Then by the very nature of Ozb, it's a postable deal. The only difference is that you're doing it as rep, eg. you have some skin in the post.

But really, it will just sort itself out. If people think it's great, it'll get up-voted. Maybe a lot, maybe a little, it doesn't matter. If some folks don't think it's a good deal, it will get negged. Just ignore it. Can't hurt to share something you think is a deal. Let others make up their minds if it's something they're interested in or not.

        • Thanks for your feedback much appreciated =)

Just wanted to say thanks for reading in advance Polling "Yes or No"

If you have a bit of time, could you please give feedback, why I should or should not.
    Much appreciated.

I personally don't think you should have made a poll of whether you should post this.

Perhaps you could make a poll of whether to make a poll to post this bargain.

Just try posting it and see how it goes.

    • Thanks for your Feedback

Looks like there's good margins on flooring if you can give 50% off rrp.

    • The Manufacture had given me a discount rate to purchase bulk. Hence the price.
So I thought by not being greedy, in exchange for exposure.

If you have a deal, set it free….

I think you just posted it.

    • I have not posted it yet. We need to create a page and add products in order for people to see.

  • Can't hurt can it? only those looking for and aware of the prices for the item would know if it's a real deal or not. I personally have no idea what the prices are for flooring or blinds so i'd just ignore the deal.

    • Thanks for your feedback much appreciated =)

    You should post.

As a rep, a post on ozbargain is an invitation to scrutinize. If the deal is truly great, you'll do well. Likewise, if your deal is more an advertisement, it will be called out.

As a helpful user, getting negged is a reflection of the deal they posted. As a rep, it is a reflection of how well you understand your own industry.

    • Understood thanks so much =) Again appreciated =)

      • Also, top quality deals sometimes get posted on industry specific websites, happens for tech bargains, might happen to you. Who knows. You could make a mint on volume.

Would you say you're fighting the temptation to post the deal? ;)

  • ^^^^^^ hahaha exactly

  • Thank you all for contributing…. I think the answer is pretty obvious =-)

    • What are your competitors selling this product for?
It's easy for the manufacturer to set an inflated RRP and then supply it to the industry at a price where you can offer 50% off and still make a large profit.

If your competitors are offering the same or similar product for $26.99 per square meter people will rightly point out its cheaper elsewhere hence not a bargain.

  • It causes no harm for you to post here. Definitely more on positive side . It will raise our interest more if you can put more on your website.

I am not in the market for flooring but I am for blinds. I could be wrong however I think that it's not that OzB members think the deal isn't great, they probably don't know as they are not interested in, or not in the market for, your products. You may not get a heap of likes however this doesn't mean that your deals are not worth posting or that they won't bring in extra custom for you. I would much prefer to give my business to someone here than some random company, assuming that the product and price are good. You will always get haters.

  • I see suppliers posting exclusive deals for Ozbaraginers all the time.

    Go ahead and do it!

After all, a deal is a deal
