I live in the outer east of Melbourne , and would like some recommendations on reliable and good fencing companies. I need to do a new side fence (about 27m)
I got 2 different guys to come and get a quote , but they never gave me one after their visits. (Never responded to my follow up calls and messages )
(Not sure if the next neighbour, which is a leased property , who is managed by a real estate office, has put them off)

I replaced a fence in North Melbourne recently, arranged 5 or 6 quotes but most didn't bother turning up. One guy actually turned up, looked at it and said "no, that looks a bit hard, I just pick and choose the easy jobs" and then walked away.

From past experiences fencing contractors would have to be the most unreliable of all tradies. Too busy to quote/return phone calls, they turn up but that is the last you hear of them, thy provide a quote which makes it very obvious they are taking you for a desperate sucker.

I’ve had the same experience with multiple fence replacements. Still unable to find a reliable fencer to turn up, return phone calls or provide quotes. Seems like it must be in demand if they don’t even bother chasing work.

I was meant to say that i needed to do a brand new side fence, to replace an old one.

Shouldn't matter if you have consent lined up. You do don't you?
Most fence guys want to do rip down and replace with new fence. Repair jobs are time consuming, don't pay much, and heavily scrutinized.
Also be aware that every fence guy I have dealt with in Melbourne have been woeful and any issues with the fence is a major saga for them to fix (one guy outright lied to my and my neighbours face to get out of fixing an obvious mistake!)
