[Membership Required] George Dickel Old No. 8 Tennessee Whisky 750ml $47 (Was $55) @ BWS

70

While checking out my local BWS on the (very) off-chance of scoring some cheap Talisker I found this gem. George Dickel is, IMHO, an underrated American whiskey that punches far above its weight. Very smooth and full of flavour, and a bit sweeter from the corn used in the mash. I actually prefer the Old No. 8 over the Old No. 12, which is more expensive, as I find the No. 12 to be a little bit astringent. At this price it's worth checking out, at the very least it'll be great for mixers.

  • You could apply your $10 off(targeted), if you haven’t used it already.

Some varying views on the Dickel. :) Put me down for a "+1", I would rate it more Makers Mark then (urghh!) JB! :)

Lately though, I have been digging on the "Old Number 15" stuff from Fassina. Excellent bourbon for the price in my humble opinion.

    Mixers at $47 a pop?

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad.

Aldis the best bang for buck with spirits, the budget gin at liquorland which will finish soon is the Vickers for $33, that's tasty, and castle rock 500ml for $20 is good value for something that can be tasted neat and not be totally awful, Johnny red is worse

  • Here's your best bourbon - Blanton's Original Private Single Barrel. DM have it down to $64 with membership. So smooth. Nothing cheap or nasty about it
