Tenda Nova MW6 Wi-Fi Mesh System - 2 Pack $129 Delivered @ Mwave

80

Hi all,

Found a deal @ Mwave for the Tenda Nova MW6 Dual-Band Whole Home Mesh WiFi System - 2 Pack, they're on sale till the 30th of June.

I was looking for decent price on the 3 Pack and decided to grab 2 of these at this price, it's cheaper than the 3 Pack on their site which isn't discounted.

Cheers

    Finally! A Rubik’s cube I can solve!

  • Any walk through on how to use this?

  • I was looking at Mwave and tossing up between this or the 3 pack of the MW3 for $99. I went with the MW3, and hoping it's the right choice.

    • Shouldn't be too much difference in terms of signal strength although the MW6 supports MU-MIMO and incorporates gigabit ethernet ports, where as the MW3 doesn't.

Found a decent comparison here which swung my vote to the MW6: https://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/review/tenda/nova-mw6-nova-mw…

Good choice. MW3 was great. Some of the missions are much better than the recent installments.

And that gillie suit! Can’t beat that classic level.

  • isn't there lots of reports that the tenda stuff is permanently calling home to china?

Well considering it uses a cloud based app by default it would make sense it's calling home to China. Just like google mesh calls home to the US.

If you do use your own router and just use the MW3 as a mesh you can block wan traffic from the units if you're that concerned. Which is what I did.

  • Do you have to register and use the Tenda app on everything that connects?

No. The recommend you register so you can use the app remotely, but you don't need to. It will still work locally.
If you don't register there will still be minimal traffic back to the cloud (like most things these days). But that can be blocked at a router level (if you use a decent separate router)

  • Am I the only one that thinks that it's strange for a online retailer to still charge 1% bank fee for Paypal/Credit card???
Isn't that what 99% of people use to pay online usually?

    • Just pay cash

      • How? I thought Mwave doesn't allow you to just rock up and buy things over the counter…

  • I just bought the Kogan 3 pack yesterday for $99….i think it’s not much more different:

  • Just missed out on this deal! any chance of bringing it back rep? :)
