  • If these came with a thunderbolt 3 port to allow for a decent graphics card they would make excellent little machines.

    • You'd then have it sitting next to an expensive eGPU twice it's size. I'd rather buy a nice ITX case and do it properly.

      • I was more thinking hiding the GPU enclosure for when you want to game in the loungeroom. NUCS are great for their small footprint and Vesa Mount. For the occasional VR and gaming session you could just connect up and then put away.

  • I'm not seeing the value in Intel compact systems when AMD AIO systems are infinitely cheaper with much better onboard GPU.

    • Thunderbolt.. eGPU capabilities.

      • Huge cost…. APU no cost.

        • With huge frame rates comes huge costs. Too bad they aren't selling the HP Omen Accelerators these days - $486 with a GTX 1060 and 1TB HDD was massive bargain in retrospect.

          • @bchliu: But if you are gonna do that, why not just build something properly anyway as above….

It's a huge extra expense in my eyes. It's niche obviously, I can see your point, just seems like if you are gonna spend upwards of $1,500 for a gimped setup you have other options too.

Better deal is to wait for the regular ebay 20% off Futu sales - Grab an Intel NUC i5-8259 ($480) with 8GB RAM ($60) and WD Green M2 stick ($60) for $600 or so. Add a copy of OEM Windows on top and it will still be cheaper than this. Not to mention the CPU being about 25% faster with faster GPU AND the extra benefits of Thunderbolt Port for External casing and connectivity. I'd prefer Intel NUC over other brands any day with more support for them.

    • Can currently get that NUC for $515 from Futu.
Add 8GB ($54) or 16GB ($99) of Patriot RAM from Amazon.
      Add 512GB ($95) or 1TB Intel 660p SSD ($159) from Amazon.

Ends up being $664 or $773 delivered.

      Add cashback too.
