Update: Is also on sale at Harvey Norman for the same price. Not sure who got there first but given Razer's track record, order from who you trust more for customer service.

Been looking for something that suits me better than the standard PS4 controller for a while now, and Camel x3 just sent me a notice about this. Seems to be the cheapest price ever on Amazon and it's currently $259 @ JB.

Note that it doesn't have the pretty lights or swappable sticks/d-pad of the Ultimate version, but at this price it's a hell of a lot cheaper (and I prefer the Xbox-style thumbstick layout myself).

Edit: Don't forget Cashrewards/Shobpack/whichever of those services is best right now (I know there's the $2 extra cashback at Cashrewards so I just used that in lieu of actual research).

Works with PS4 and PC (Windows 7 and above)
Bluetooth/wired connection
Mobile app for easy configuration
Ergonomic multi-function button layout
Trigger stops for quick-firing action

  • Really good deal but we're so close to new consoles it's hard to justify it, especially with no confirmation these will work with new consoles.

I'm guessing you don't have the backlog I do - plenty of PS4 games I can still go through with a better controller. Plus it works with PC as well (and I wonder if you could get it working with Android devices). And we can always hope the controllers will be backwards compatible, since the games will be.

A year and a half is close? We have different ideas of what is close.

    • Yeah, I've had a Razer controller die on me in the past (and Razer weren't much help, but the store I bought it from was) - did a bit of reading and apparently newer hardware/firmware revisions of the Raiju are a bit better, and if the worst happens I've never had a bad experience with Amazon customer service myself.

  • Was looking at this but so many people I spoke to, including retailers all said it had a huge return rate. Seems to run in batches often has issues with drifting if it doesn't breakdown completely, I went for the Nacon V3 which is currently about 220 so par with the normalish price of the razor, yet so much better. city of games had it listed at 219 with free shipping instead of $300 but JB did price match it.

  • This seems like a waste of money next to the XB1 Elite controller because it has no paddles allowing independent button operation. Also the Elite controller is very high quality which is not something Razer is famous for.

Buy Brooks X One to use it on PS4.

  • Is this three times better than a Playstation 4 or xbox controller?

    • Depends. If you're perfectly happy with the stock controllers, probably not. But I've never found stock Playstation controllers big enough (even though the DS4 is a marked step up in that regard) and I prefer the asymmetric thumbstick layout, so it's worth at least a bit more for me for those, even without the other features.
