  • What's interesting to know is that any store on Amazon couldn't just say "hey let's be a part of Prime Day". They actually had to be invited by their account manager and there were a lot of good stores that weren't.

Still I've managed to spend about $300 so far on some killer deals.

That's it over eh? Most not excellent my dude.

Prime Day is pretty shit - good prices on grocery items undercutting coles and woolies. I do note a lot of people have mentioned expiry dates are very short, so they must be getting items that are about to expire from the manufacturers.

    • More likely they've (Amazon) been holding the stock for some time I reckon

  • Pretty disappointing except Samsung s10e and some board games.

    • +1

There has been plenty of deals on S10e since its launch, if it was essential, people would have bought it back then

      • they've just launched s20 FE like whaat

Last year had some mad deals especially the gaming consoles
now this year Amazon is not even trying anymore..

Amazon should change the name from Prime Day to "Prime Meh"

    • Prime Nay

    • When they first launched the deals were amazing, especially the toasters, kettles etc which were cheap as chips. Now the deals are few and far between and usuaully they are just price matches which sell out quickly. I was expecting them to have a really good console deal and nothing, super disappointing, prime day is a con.

No switch console was the biggest let down. Was on sale last year!

I grabbed a few games in anticipation…oh well.

  • +2

Pretty average compared to last year to be honest. Saved me some money at least

  • +2

Ended up using my my $10 voucher on 7 packets of Tim tams and 1.1kgs of skittles for a total of $7.30 out of pocket lol….. Smh.

  • +2

That's all folks. See you all next year. Enjoy your toilet paper, coca cola, croc, and other useless stuffs. Thanks Amazon.

    The shit is officially over!

  • Tried really hard to buy something from prime, just nothing exciting and cheap! Disappointed! Happy I saved my money though.

  • It's funny how they word "THIS WAS EPIC" on Amazon site.PFFT!! Amazon must think we're dumb consumers here,or they're just so out of touch with the market here..

Bet their marketing & sale team are getting the sack when the figure comes out tomorrow 😂

  • I was also rather underwhelmed by the deals this year. I bought the 45 pack of toilet paper for about $13 after all the cashback. Came on Tuesday, so that was nice.

Also managed to get a pair of the XM3's for $289 which was nice, as I've been thinking of getting them for the girlfriends birthday anyway (she rather likes my pair!). It isn't until November but just going to give them to her now.

Otherwise. A big fat meh. Lots of things on my watch list were cheaper during the BigW toy frenzy matching a few weeks ago.

E.G. Switch Pro Controller was $89 - 10% during prime day. A few weeks ago it was $79 for an extended period of time…

      (she rather likes my pair!)

Please no adult only conversation here.

I bought exactly 0 items during Prime Day. Its not a Prime Day, its a "Clearance of old and unwanted items" Day.

    • Yup, the toilet paper was probably wasting warehouse space for ages and they had to think of a good way to get rid of them and make everyone think they got a good deal.

  • Waste of time.

  • Pretty ordinary… prime day fail!
Was hoping for discounted ipads like the US… no real console bargains compared to past deals…
    Wasted opportunity!

    • But can you also buy that iPad deal from Australia?

      • Those deals do not ship to Australia unfortunately

  • Saved a lot of money this time. Spending $0, not too bad!!!!

Highly unimpressed - spent way too much time checking in case they surprised with some actual bargains. A very tedious 48 hours as a result. Thankfully (after 5 attempts) I snagged some of the eBay AirPods.

    • I also was scanning OzBargain and Amazon in case something not advertised popped up for the last 48 hours.

At about 9pm last night they had the board game Scythe discounted to ~$60 and this felt like a win but overall, pretty disappointing.

Damn nearly spent $1K on below

    3x Fitbit charge 3
    2x Aftershokz Trekz
    10kg laundry powder
    10l fabric softener
    2 pack finish dishwasher tabs
    1.7kg Vanish
    3 Van Heusen Shirts
3 office pants from some brand in US
    1 denim
    1 Lego city Sky police
1 selfie stick (Just got sucked in this one….)
    1 Bicycle tail light

So not a bad Prime day from my perspective…..

    • +1 for the Fitbit Charge 3. I ordered on Monday around 10am and it was delivered to my regional town on the coast at 8am Tuesday!

I am wearing it right now and its a great watch but will need to spend some time testing all the fitness aspects of the tracker.

Next Prime Day is a long time to wait for more TP…I'm worried that I didn't purchase enough.

Echo Show 5 was 44% off (USD$50) during the US Prime Day sales, over here we have…. nothing.

Very disappointed with Prime Day this year.

    • Apparently they had an overstock of the now discontinued and only in white echo spot devices hence why they were discounted and the show (which replaced it) was not.

  • Gotta say for me at least the worst prime day sale yet, I really didnt see any specials that interested me at least or even any specials that was an amazing price compared to past prime sales. Maybe the Sony headphones was a decent deal but not mindblowing compared to some of the past items that were just ridiculous bargains. OH well, seems the majority was just normal sale prices on grocery items and such.

I'm curious if Amazon will come out with a statement of sorts acknowledging this cluster profanity that was prime day.

Or if they'll just gaslight everyone and throw something out like,

"This was our most successful EPIC, EEEEEEEEEPPPPPIIIIICCCCCC prime days ever!see you all next year for an even bigger, epic sale."

I managed to get plenty of bargains during the prime sales. But I had way more fun looking at all the comments here…..what a bunch of sooks some of you are.

  • +1

HEADS UP - Bargain Hunters…I just noticed that the last two of my PRIME DAY orders were charged at normal prices. These orders were placed in the last 2 hours of Amazon.au prime day. I rang them and they resolved the issues without any fuss. Check your invoices!

  • Pretty underwhelming. Cheap 8TB, Lego 911 RSR and paper towels!

  • +2

Guess what I bought during Amazon Prime Day? The $99 Airpods from eBay 👍

  • I hate to say this. But Amazon probably don't have much competition after first round offering great priced now has backed down giving us the same aussie tax

Also eBay deals ain't even on the same level that we have seen past few years.

Overall bargains are harder and harder to come by.

Nowadays I can't be bothered. In fact I save money by not buying anything heh.

The good old deals with insane prices pretty much gone

It's the same with eBay plus started off great and look at how it is now. Not worth subscription at all
