Do You Have to Be Old to Be an OzBargainer?

Hello ozbargainers!

We are 11 year old twins who have recently discovered ozbargain. We prefer reddit but we are not allowed to go on there. We are also not allowed to use this computer without Dad's or Mum's permission but Mum's away with lil' bro and Dad's a soft touch. Dad also appreciates people taking initiatives😁. Mum does too but to a lesser degree😟

What would be totally amazeballs is if we could have our own account. Is that allowed?
We do not have much to contribute to the community but we like reading the comments. Some are funnier than others. We also help our neighbour to collate and deliver the junk mail in exchange for pocket money. So we have money to burn and know what is going to be on special before everyone else. We are also kind and friendly.

May the force be with you.

I dunno… those MS Paint diagrams can get pretty racy…

What is going on around here lately?

Earlier the bargain education, the better it is.

How is your armchair legal advice? It also helps if you have a driving licence so you can determine who shouts at who.

    • Not so good since they are both grounded.

Sounds like the dad wrote it rather than the twins …

    • 'soft touch' is a giveaway.

      • Plus, you'd think kids know how to use contractions by the time they reach their final year of primary schooling …

    • Glad the private schooling is paying off.

Hey guys, welcome! I am 30 now. I think I got into bargain hunting with my mates around year 9 or 10. That was around the time we were supposed to be using the internet more at school for projects (makes me feel old thinking about it). You guys are the youngest bargain hunters I have heard of! 🙂 Happy hunting!

Nope. Have to earn high six figures, have investment cars, and have enough cash reserve to take ten of Tesla deals.

  • If you can use a computer, you can use whatever website and register for any account.

It's up to your parents to control what you see/read/be part of.

    • In theory, yes but ozb has a one account per household policy which is why hubby and I share the same account.

      • ozb has a one account per household policy

But you used to have a separate account in the past, no? Didn't you voluntarily give that up?
Just curious, as I didn't think ozb has this policy.

        • I had an account way before JJB ever did. In fact, I introduced him to ozb :) I voluntarily chose to disable mine because I wasn't using it much ( among other things that was going on at the time). I believe the one-account-per-household policy was introduced later. A friend of ours mentioned something about it last year but I can't find anything on the wiki . I could be wrong- perhaps no such policy exists?

The twins only want to be on ozb because they've been on school holidays for less than 24 hrs and are already bored. They also have a friend on here that they used to chat to and they were hoping he would say hello. He was the one who gave them the nickname 'Padawans' :) I believe you know him?

      • This is incorrect. We allow one account per individual. It's when we see evidence that suggests it's the same person operating multiple accounts that we will ban the newer accounts.

        From Terms of Use:

Multiple accounts held by the same individual or entity are subject to immediate termination unless expressly authorised by OzBargain.

  • Most adults these days can't write like that, let alone 11 year olds. That being said I'll play along. Nah you don't have to be old but it probably helps considering the overwhelming number of old, rich, out of touch losers here.

Let me fix that for you.

hi. we r 11 and like to use dis forum cause of t3h lolz and we sometimes do like sorting stuff and whatever…

      • That looks like how unclesnake would type it….and he's like in his 60s or something….

      • I thought you were joking ….until I came across this post, written by a university graduate😲

    Absolutely not!!

I am only 107 years young and opened an account without my full time carer noticing. I plan to remain an active member of OzBargain even into my old age.

I'd say the site is fairly family friendly, but kids shouldn't be worrying about what things cost since they don't do shopping.

I'm a teen but I've been lurking since my primary school days for those freebies. Now that I have my own debit card, if I see a good deal (or a really good price error), I'll buy it with consideration.
