Customer retention team could probably get you below this price any day of the week. That being said, Iā€™m not a Foxtel customer anymore.

    F* Foxtel.

Only 8 times more than Netflix… Bargain!!! (not)

Just got rid of Foxtel myself. Its such bad value outside of sport. I can see the day ill get rid of Netflix too unfortunately, they are making so much crap content and the recommendation/rating system is rubbish. The strategy seems to be spray n pray.

      • What would you recommend?

        • +1

          Publicly.. not much.

    • +3

Apples/oranges as neither have the same content.

      • Either can be used for you daily fruit intake though…

Yeah! You just need the 4K Netflix package, $17.99pm, Kayo $25pm, stan $17pm and an ISP than allows you to rent a fetch box for a DVR $15pm for a total of $75pm and then you'll get close to having a comparable service… Just without HBO and a lot of documentaries.

      • Yeah, still better.

None of those services have commercials.
Can share with 3 people to split cost

        • +1

If we are going to get dodgy we can also say you can order another multi room box and share it with a mate too… I'm just saying, comparing Foxtel with all the bells and whistles to a Netflix sub is not an apples to apples comparison, at the very least you get a 1TB high quality DVR with your Foxtel sub.

And as for you comment about commercials, if you are watching "on demand" on Foxtel (your only option with Netflix and the like), there are no commercials.

The going rate for Platinum HD is $89p/m. Easily available for existing customers but it may be more difficult for new installs. I wouldn't be signing up for a 12 month contract at this price.

Great price. Hard to believe they keep losing customers šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Never ceases to amaze me how people are willing to pay to bombard themselves and their children with unwanted, harmful content that ruins the content they actually want.

Anyone still using the Getflix VPN to access the US version of Netflix?

Combined with a Russian or Turkish subscription (sign-up) that may be the best value for those wanting to pay for content.

Personally I use third party Android TV apps with a half decent internet connection. The software isn't as pretty as Netflix but you can pretty much watch anything within reason and best of all, one less bill coming in each month.

    • What apps are you using? Thanks

      • Russian and Turkish ones.

  • I pretty much only use sport.

Is there a 4k sport option that is not just foxtel?

    • +1

4K channel is only available on Foxtel Satellite. Kayo gives you sport with HD better than 7HD and ads during the footy.

    • I signed up to platinum offer last year. Cost of install and 4 months free. Kayo came out during my free period so I negotiated HD sports package to $39p/m for 12 months.
A little more than Kayo but amazing coverage and convenience.

  • Cancelled our Foxtel after 1 year. Now we have foxtel now (2 accounts free for 2 years) so we stream that + netflix (used VPN to setup, paying premium for about $10 a month) + kayo at full price unfortunately, $25.

We have 2 x TelstraTV's which we use to stream all services, 1 in the lounge, 1 in the bedroom

Not willing to split Kayo because its open to stealing the account.

    • Free Foxtel Now for 2yrs? How?

      • Its packaged, so you could choose which series of channels you wanted as there were a few.

I dont think you can get it anymore? It has been posted here, it also has popped up on the app/and possibly foxtel website.

      • Try this link, not sure if it will work - either login or register and see what happens
