    Quick google says you need DDR3 not DDR4 so it won't.

      Also server memory DDR3 from ebay is far cheaper than this.

    G8 microserver need ECC ram, it also can’t use the ‘server’ type registered DRAM.

    So you need to search for DDR3 unbuffered ECC ram. From experience it’s not very common and kinda pricey.

    Funnily enough the server class stuff seems easier to come by (registered ECC) likely because of higher number of second hand memory in circulation.

  Hoping I can get some help from some of the cleverer people here.

  So I did the whole "is this compatible with my PC" thing, and it said no. When it gave compatible memory cards - the same card seemed to pop up. Any idea if this will work with a Dell Inspiron 15 7585?

  Currently have fully stock standard, so 8gb ram with a spare slot.

    This is desktop memory, you need DDR4 SODIMM
