One day before reviews of the 3000 series…

Perhaps hold off until later today when next gen is announced?

I'd suggest waiting, probably till at least Nov and Black Friday, when you'll probably be able to pick one of these up for half these 'sale' prices.

People are going to want the 3000 series and their 15% IPC increases. And who knows, maybe Intel will get serious about cutting their prices and getting into a price war with the resurgent AMD.

    • Intel can get some pretty easy speed boosts if they stop using that crappy thick TIM that bottlenecks the performance of their CPUs and go back to soldering like with sandy bridge, the last truly big leap. Or if they delid the CPUs for you, an easy boost in performance.

Thanks, I got 3. I will cancel them tomorrow after reviews. lol

  • Will 3000 still be compatible with the motherboard used for 1000?

  • I picked up 2700x on eBay sale a couple of weeks ago for $364

They'll end up cheaper than that soon

  • Also catch is already selling the new 3600 for $366 releasing price. So even the new one will be cheaper soon. https://m.catch.com.au/product/amd-ryzen-5-3600-6-core-12-th…

    • No way 3700x goes for $600, even after conversion + 10% and markup. This site looks dodgy.

      • +1

Well, you may be right about dodgy .. as in the past they havent reported data breaches until years later, and Packer & Murdoch are backing Leibovich who runs the site (claims it to be the 3rd largest retail site in Australia`)

      • Leaks have pretty much confirmed it will be around the $510 mark.
Who knows what Catch is doing, seeing the NDA has not listed yet.

      • This.

It seems the 3600 just about reaches 2700X multicore performance, and obviously beats it in single core. It should have a starting price of $325 (though AMD's margins for this launch are Intel-esque).

Both of these prices are poor for 18-month old stock on the eve of a launch. This kind of pricing and listing could be described as predatory.

    • That does not seem like Aussie stock. How can they escape the NDA. Also that is priced way too high!

    Batteries 1 A batteries required.

    Good to know.
