Just noticed that Amazon has dropped its price on Cyberpunk 2077 preorder.
I could be wrong but I think its the lowest price for "official" source of preordering the PC version for now, at least since E3 announcement.
Pre-order price guarantee makes it sweeter, plus you can utilize the $10 you get from the $10 Prime Video deal ;-)

$63.59 for a key from CD Keys or no doubt wait for release when they all do a $59 special

It's not due till April next year, why even bother jumping at it now? Put your $10 towards something cheap and actually on special

    • +9

No idea why people don't wait. It's not as if they'll run out of CD keys. Plus any preorder bonuses are just going to be shitty tier-none guns/items that are under-powered after the third mission.

      • +1

At least Amazon will price match the lowest price before taking the money for the game but yeah 10 months is crazy long time in video game development.

    • I'm probably new to the scene but does all the games do a release special? especially for PC as some reason PC prices are more expensive than console versions.
I'm sort of the get it done and dusted guy so I like doing stuff as early as I could :)

      • +4

If you want to lose money like a fool then buy it as early as possible. If not then wait until release.

Most large publishers, with the notable exception of CD Project Red, the publisher of Cyberpunk, are greedy scum who confuse the consumer by having 12 different combinations of prices conditional upon being a member of this subscription service or that doodad so no one knows what they are buying.

      • You have to do your research and see what different special editions offer on top of the base game, and what the difference in price is. Like potplanty says above, any in-game item bonus they offer usually has very limited utility and you won't be using it beyond the first few hours of the game (and as such aren't worth paying more for imo). For bonuses such as future DLC which you would otherwise have to pay for after buying just the base game, it would depend on whether you trust that developer or not. Those are just a few examples of things they can offer.

At the end of the day you should ask yourself whether you feel the bonus content is worth the extra price, and where possible place your order at the last possible moment since you never know what else might get announced (especially before the game launches).

Showing up as $52.79 at CD Keys now :)

I'm hyped about this game and all, but do i really want to preorder it TEN MONTHS in advance?

    • i would

Never ever preorder a game. Not if you want another fiasco like No Man's Sky.

    • +2

I 100% believe this game is going to be great, but I'm not 100% it will be released free of very annoying or game breaking bugs. I'm waiting for a review, and probably the first couple of patches too. As awesome as The Witcher 3 is, they released 22 patches in all for that game, though some were hot fixes and feature updates.

Different studio, but when Bethesda released Skyrim, I got it day one, the bugs caused the game to run like shit. I never got that awesome feeling from the start, if I had waited a few patches, I could have been blown away.

  • Title says:

    $70.99 + Delivery (Free with Prime/ $49 Spend)

Do I still need to either have Prime or spend another $49 on something else to get free delivery? Or is it going to be always free delivery for this product as it’s more than $49 itself?

    • i think if the preorder drops below $49 you will need to pay delivery unless you have prime.

      • +2

Yep, that's right. Posting in the title just in case, i doubt it would drop any lower than $59 on release though

  • +2

Just so people know, it'll be a GOG Galaxy key, not Steam key.

    • Is there a source for this?

    • If you preorder any Cyperpunk key on any website/platform rather than Steam, the key would not be Steam key, most likely GOG, Epic or something else.

      sorry for bad english

      • -1

If I got an Epic key I'd demand a refund.

    • At least it's not an Epic key

    • GOG means no DRM?

      • Yep. Always has.

    • ah great, thanks!

  • $10 from the Prime Video deal? Where is that? I'm on Prime.

  • Nah man

  • -2

thats $1 more expensive than from the Epic launcher…

    • Here, let me help you spend that $1 saving: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/467729

    • +3

I'd spend the $1 just to NOT get it from Epic. Hell, I'd pay $10 more to get it on anything but Epic.

      • +1

I would pay $20 more, without a second thought.

    You're all breathtaking!

    • just about to post this

We, as a community, need to stop pre-ordering games.

My mate pre-ordered RDR2 like 2 months before its release for $69 from JB and it went on sale on Amazon for $59 (less another $15 off) a week before its release. There is no way that this will be the best price for this item, mark my words.

    • +1

Amazon give you the reduced price if they reduce it before release. They also don't charge you until it's shipped.

    • +1

Your mate could’ve easily cancelled it and switched to Amazon or tried to get it price matched.

      • -1

They don't refund the deposits (pre-ordered at JB).

        • That is not the case. They absolutely do refund pre-order deposits.

  • hmm listing on amazon is brief. if it's the same as jb hifi for $79 (and why wouldn't it be) you get:

The Day One Edition comes with the following physical items:

    Case with game code
World Compendium detailing the game’s setting and lore
    Postcards from Night City
    Map of Night City
    Stickers

    Digital goodies included:

    Game soundtrack
Art booklet featuring a selection of art from the game
    Cyberpunk 2020 sourcebook
    Wallpapers for desktop and mobile

The hard copy of the 2020 source book is around $30 - $40 + delivery? So that should let you roleplay pen and paper karma free until it comes out. Or just give you more back story.
