Must be targeted. Not in my card offers

  • I got one on my gold card. Thanks.

  • Got it on all 3 of my cards…

  • Strange availability. Got it on my main card and 2 of my 4 supplementary cards.

    • I got it on my main DJs Amex, my supplementary DJs Amex, my main Velocity Escape but not the supplementary Velocity Escape (however that card is very new)

  • Got one.

  • thanks OP, amex is slow to actually email this and by the time i get mine they have all been taken.

  • +3

Not for me.. amex essentials i.e. no annual fee i.e. for cheapskates.

    • I got it on my main Velocity Escape card, which has no annual fee

    • Received on my Amex Essentials

    • Received on my Amex Essentials

  • Thanks OP, saved to 5 cards.

  • +1

    Does the app still suck?

    • +7

      Yes

      • My experience was ok…just sometimes you need to gesture the staff to turn the pump on manually…?

        • It’s not the staff; it’s the fact that the app doesn’t work half the time

        • I thought you always needed the staff to 'turn on' the pump? There's always a slight delay when I pull the trigger - more if the staff isn't at the register. Not exactly proof, but I've just assumed it now - where there's smoke, there's fire?

Perhaps it's just the areas I fill up petrol in…

  • glad the requirement is back to only one transaction of $50 or more.

    • Was it higher before?

      • +4

I believe it was 2 x $50 transactions last time, to get the $20

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/439678

      • I've had spend $40 get $10, use twice per card.

With the current offer, I have to refuel at 1.42 p/l to reach $50 unless I run completely empty.

    • +3

Even that is hard for small cars. Have to wait till almost empty

      • sure is. i've only got a 38L tank and the most i've stuffed in it was 35L. i'd have to run it very empty and hope that on the day, the price is above $1.428.

think i'll just fill up my other car with the bigger tank.

        • +2

Or just bring a jerry can/s when playing petrol roulette. Those jerry cans have paid for itself very quickly with the cost savings.

          • @t25: Allowed to store fuel at home with these jerry cans? Saw some 20L at bunnings and may need multiple.

            • @FatTofu: No idea on the legalities on storing fuel at home. As long as you are not keeping an absurd amount like 150+ litres.

      • +4

        "…in one or more transactions,"

You can split it over a couple of transactions.

        • thanks, my 4am brain completely missed that @_@

  • +2

The app can't even load up last time and I gave up on saving $20

    • After paying, it kept spinning for me and never gave me confirmation that it was even paid. Had to speak to the operator and he told me it went through. But I got no receipt.

      Very stressful.

      • if you log in to Amx you should see pending

  • I managed to save on 2 of my cards, but then they seem to have disappeared. Wondered if the registrations have reached the cap.

  • +3

It is the worst petrol payment App. The only way they can get people to use it is with these promos. Last time it required two tx. I completed one but the App didn’t work on multiple attempts at multiple sites for the second time . They also still don’t support velocity cards!

  • +9

Time to dust off the BP app again. These Amex offers are the only time I use it.

    • +9

It is the only time I install it.

      • So true

      • +1

I installed it, used it for the last promo, then promptly uninstalled.

        • I kept it installed, because it is so bad that reinstalling and registering back my account onto the device is such a pain

      • They need to run the offer more often then.

        • +1

they need to fix the app so that we can test it for them with some incentive

  • +1

The app has been out for quite a while now. Don't know why it doesn't work faster.

    • +2

Because they won't hire competent programmers and IT staff.

  • Thanks very much have it on my 2 cards..like the others the BP app is terrible so only use with these offers

  • Anyone knows what’s wrong with their BPme app!?
Ticked the boxes for t&c then confirm but it comes back and ask to tick it again. Glitch!?

    • I think is a system glitch this morning, I am unable to log in the bp me appl. I keep getting the error message "something went wrong, please try again". My email address and password all entered correctly.

      • It is not a glitch at all as the app never worked.

  • Got it on my main card and additional card as well.

  • YESSSS ! Missed this lat time, appeared in both my cards under the offers tab of the app.

    • +1

Sorry to mark you down , dont happy so soon until you are able to use it in their app.

I cant even log in last time to use it

      • I guess you snoozed and losed?

        • -1

I don't think it is a lost. I win over not wasting time on it to save $10 worth of my time

  • -3

Using BPme app at the petrol station like a moron as the app never works to save $10? No thanks.

  • +3

Try fiddle with the app during busy time. I won't be surprised if the driver behind you get out of their car to check if you're not dead in your car.

  • Does the app ever login. It has been sitting on the green screen daying logging you in for like 3 mins. With the amount of money the company makes as if they can't make a better app.

  • The offer shows in my main gold card and supplementary card, but not in my DJ card. Why should I pay $99 annual fee for DJ card?

    • For the free delivery, Instant Rewards, etc. There must have been a reason why you thought it was worth paying $99/year for it … I have one, but I don’t pay an annual fee for it.

      • How?

        • i) work for David Jones, or in my case ii) get offered to upgrade from your Storecard and have the annual fee waived for every year you hold the card.

So I no longer work for David Jones, but don’t have to pay for my DJs Amex

          • @kerfuffle: isn't that they cant offer to waive the CC fee since the beginning of this year?

            • @SnoozeAndLose: That’s what I’ve heard. I signed up in 2015 after three years on the Storecard, so if they re-neg and start charging me an annual fee, I’m gonna kick up a stink

  • +3

Is the Amex website slow, or is it just me?

    • Maybe just you?

      • How can you tell if you're replying 6 hours later?

  • Clicking the thumbnail it asks your details but there's no save button? Is that because I'm not targeted?

    • Most probably

    • me too. no save button.

  • Yay happy to get something targeted finally

  • Do we need to have nfc feature on the phone to make it worked?

    • Nah, basically gps detected which servo your at and you choose the pump #.

  • You guys weren't kidding. The app is still unuseable.

Tried to log in with mother's maiden name, I get "Something went wrong, please try again."

No matter how many times I try I get that same error message. Closing the app and reopening it does the same thing.

    • Join the club. I keep getting the error message "something went wrong, please try again" since yesterday. I am still cannot log in. My email address and password all entered correctly.

    • Same here. Wasted 20 minutes at the servo fiddling around with the app.

On my main phone, tried logging in but got an error message. Installed the app on a spare phone, could login, could detect the servo, tried selecting the pump but got the "something went wrong error message". Tried restarting the app many times and still couldn't get it to work.

      • sounds like a totally hopeless app.

All I can suggest is everyone leave a 1 star review and hope that it gets BP's attention.

    • Tried to log in with mother's maiden name, I get "Something went wrong, please try again."

Check with your mum that you got her maiden name correct. That was why mine didn't work…

      • +1

I think I know her maiden name by now. Thanks anyway though.

        • -1

          Wrong mum maybe then???

  • Seems like all fully redeemed? I cant add via manual link now …

    • Yeah where’s the save button?

  • +1

I got the "Something went wrong, please try again” repeatedly on my Huawei phone but logged in successfully on my iPad and old LG phone. Go figure! Now gotta remember to take my iPad with me when refuelling!

    • I can confirm the same issue on my huawei mate 20 pro.
Uninstalled/reinstalled the app with no success.

I recall it struggled on my galaxy s7 too, but would login 2/3 times.

      • Same issue on my s10 as well

  • All I can see in my account is:

Spend $50 or more, get $15 back
    The Big Banana Fun Park

  • How do you use the direct link to enrol? From memory there is usually an enrol button somewhere but all this lets me do is enter in my details and read t&cs

    • It's probably expired.

      • +1

aren't you meant to have a quota of one boldfaced word per message?

        • No, it's a monthly quota.

  • app seems to work fine for me. just filled up tonight. hadn't used it since 2017 and even then, i was suspicious of how easy it was to use.
running ios 10.2.1 on iphone se.

  • this bpme app is quite useless and slow, try to use it yesterday, keep saying there's technical issue…

  • +1

I used the app yesterday and it worked fine.

    • Android or iOS?

  • Got the email confirmation within a minute of my second fill-up to make it $50.

  • Is this still open for enrolments? I can’t seem to get the manual link to work.

Edit: Or do you still need to be targeted…

  • The app is horrid - anyone else having problems just to log in?

    • Their app is sucks in every aspect including register and log in

  • Anyone know how to remove the Credit Card? Can't find any option in iOS app

    • Swipe the card to the left and delete option appears

  • From the comments, it sounds like the app is only working on iOS devices and not Android.

  • D'oh I didn't read the first line of T&C. Doesn't work with PayPal .. what a waste of time that was this morning with that buggy app.

  • Managed to pull the trigger a few more times after my tank was full at $48.90 just to get it to reach $50.01!
