  • I'm waiting for Citizen GMT BJ7111-86L Promaster 200m to go back on sale before i bite the bullet!

So tempted on the blue Sami though.

  • Oh God I want it, but do I really need another dive watch? I only have two wrists god damn it.

    • I hear you!! Want it but really don’t need another…

    • It's called a rotation :) one per day you can have 365 if u have a full year rotation 366 if it's a leap year haha.. Now I need to convince wife why I need a watch winding box lollll

    • +1

Just do a Schwarzkopf and wear one on each wrist :)

      • +2

Someone should've shown him a GMT watch seriously :)

        • +1

But that would mean wearing fewer watches. Madness.

Hmmm, Seiko "Save the Ocean": a Japanese company (as is Citizen) . A little ironic name, no farcical really, given Japan has recommenced whaling.
A search of their home website mentions its dedication to protecting the environment but nary a word about opposing whaling. Sorry for the political speech, but BOYCOTT PLEASE

    • +6

You do realise Seiko is a company and not representative of the Japanese government, yes? Are you also going to call a boycott on all Japanese companies and Sushi restaurants?

    • What's it got to do with whaling? I'm sure you eat cows, lambs, chickens anyway.

Can Seiko please "Save The Ocean Blue Whale" by announcing that it will no longer supply anyone associated with the ongoing Japanese mass murder of whales with any of it's products or services?

    • +3

      See comment above.

    • Guess you don't eat beef either.

Well Seiko sort of leaves itself open when someone in marketing comes up with this great idea to name a product "Save the Ocean….blah blah". What does this mean? Does it mean they are going to stop killing dolphins and whales? Please stay on track here.
And as I said, there is nothing on their site about protecting the ocean or about this range of watches being used to protect the ocean. Sort of misleading marketing isn't it? Very happy if a Seiko representative can show me the error of my comments. But really I suspect this is just a subtle marketing ploy which needs to be explored by consumers.
And why shouldn't private or public corporations challenge their governments when they are up to no good?
Sushi restaurants are sort of not related to my conjecture unless they are similarly marketing their products as save the ocean s sushi and giving nothing back to actually save the oceans.

More whales and dolphins are killed every year by being entangled in fishing nets than intentional kills. Google it. Japanese haters: stop eating fish if you really wanna save whales and dolphins. Also stop eating terrestrial animals - livestock consume more marine animals than humans.

    • eat soylent green, no animals are harmed to make soylent green.

    • I've eaten whale sashimi in Japan .. tastes great .. like a mix between tuna and beef.

      I also eat beef.

Is the dial misalign thing still prevalent? I can't justify spending hundreds of dollars to get a dud the manufacturer refuses to admit is crappy quality control.

    • You could always consider the J models which are made in Japan.

They are more expensive and won't have the 3 year AU warranty.

      • How do I determine whether they are J models or not? The link to the starbuy site and the eye candy site seem to show two different watch faces ie one has made in Japan while the other does not

Are the starbuy ones made in Japan?

        • +2

If the last letter in the model number is a J, this indicates made in Japan. These are considerably more expensive. K or P indicates being assembled elsewhere.
