I, for one, welcome our new Chinese overlords and am happy to share my most personal data with them. Great phone with a lit camera and dank battery life (dabs).

        Don't be, Mate 20 pro doesn't have 3.5mm jack.

    • You sure bro.. Please post receipt.. Thanks

    • Nice

      Wow you have good luck

    • I was expecting this, but the staff didn't make a mistake. Cheers.

  • How’s mate 20 compared to s10.
Is there a lot of things to get use to

  • Good deal, but I’ve put my $$ into a Xiaomi Mi 9 @ $580. Admittedly, it’s the 64GB version though.

  • Am I correct in saying that traditional MICROSD cards won't fit in this phone? Only their proprietary NanoSD?

    • Yep

      • whoa Hoss, we have to buy a Huawei nanoSD? I think this phone just dropped off my radar.

  • Thanks OP for the great deal. Ordered one to replace my old aging iPhone6S. :)

Picked up the phone this arvo. To me this is a $800+ phone. Such a bargain at ~$550.

  • Thanks, ordered one also.

The 5% coupon is no longer active

Now cheaper on Amazon AU $599 less cashrewards or shopback

  • Can this be combined with the $500 gift card when porting my number to Telstra?

That's an amazing deal! It's actually cheaper than the price of importing one from China using AliExpress- plus this has local warranty.

Still ended up getting the OnePlus 7 (8GB RAM + 256GB storage), for $100 more it seems like a significantly better phone than this in every way minus the camera maybe and the lack of any 3.5mm headphone jack. And being a OnePlus flagship I'd suspect it would have much stronger community support at XDA well into the future.

Where'd you get it from? Not really sure where we can get a OnePlus phone from nowadays

      • AliExpress, you have to import it to Australia from China sadly. Works with all 3G and 4G bands that I use. They have the OnePlus 7 selling for around $650 AUD.

The biggest risk is if you have to claim warranty or if the phone has major defects on arrival and you'd pretty much be left up sh*t creek. I have imported 2 Chinese phones before (Xiaomi Mi5, Motorola Moto Z Play) and they didn't have any issues at all. So I decided to risk it again.

        • Thanks for the reply! Do you still have a link to the seller that you bought the One Plus 7 from (feel free to pm me)? The only thing I'd be worried about when buying from AliExpress is if I was getting the real thing or a cheap copy.

          • @boomersgold: Also interested in this, a confirmed good seller would be great :)

Also Huawei no longer provides bootloader unlocking codes in order to flash custom ROMs. This hugely impacts longevity of the phone's OS specially with the whole Trump saga.

Not too many custom ROMs available for the phone, so I'd not be comfortable buying one. LineageOS stopped supporting all Huawei devices after the P20 Pro.

  • Thanks, OP. Picked two up yesterday with 2 x $500 GC's from the Telstra 12 month deal. Also managed to get an extra $20 off each on top of the 5%! The camera should keep the misses happy for all the stupid photos kids put on Instagram these days. Can anyone recommend a good case for this??

It comes with clear case in the box.
