33-40 hours and 2 stops between ADL and YVR…wow!

    • Would certainly want a good 3-4 week holiday to deal with that

    • It says 2 stops, but there are actually 3, there's a fuel stop in Xinzheng for about 2 hours along the way (same plane, but it lands and takes on fuel) as well as the stop in Melbourne and Shuanglui. The extra stop shows up if you look directly on the airline's booking page, but not on the agent's page.

Speaking of which, something doesn't feel right about this fair to me. mytrip.com which is the agent that is offering the cheapest fare on this flight has some terrible reviews and the fare feels like it is cheaper than it should be and it could be a mistake to me. I'd be very careful booking this one in case they don't honour it given their customer service record. The fact that Mel->Vancouver is significantly more expensive, the extra leg Adl->Mel leg is with a different airline and Sichuan won't do Adl->Vancouver if you book on their site makes it feel questionable to me. It is possible that it is a real fare or a mistake that they will end up honouring - all I'm saying is to exercise caution.

Which airline has the cleaner toilets? Sichuan Airlines or Spice Air?

This is ridiculous. The flight to Vancouver from Adelaide had a layover in Melbourne. So, theoretically, a flight from Melbourne to Vancouver should be cheaper as the cost of taking a passenger from Adelaide to Melbourne would be removed, yet it comes out to be more expensive with the same airlines.

    • I live in Melbourne. If I wanted this cheap fare, I'd have to fly to Adelaide, then fly back to Melbourne before setting off to Chengdu and then Vancouver… A 2-week holiday ends up becoming a 1 week holiday :(

    • It doesn’t work that way. Hundreds of layover flights are cheaper than direct.

      • and hundreds arent

      • They are having issues with people with hand luggage walking off and not completing all legs. They are beginning to clamp down. There must be some logic in there, not sure what it is.
