  • What's the surcharge for?

      Don't you know?

It's the "we charge 10% more on Sundays to cover the Sunday rates that we don't pass onto our employees at most stores because we've been caught with our pants down underpaying tonnes of staff all over the place" surcharge.

Nah, but it's been around for a while. I don't go to Domino's that often as of late, but I would never go on a Sunday.

Oh wow, clearly never order domino's on a Sunday. Wonder how KFC, HJ's, Maccas, Pizza Hut and every other non Domino's fast food outlet manage Sundays without a scabby surcharge.

It's not objecting to paying more on a Sunday on it's own. I mean, I would get it for a small business actually struggling to make ends meet and pay Sunday rates. But Domino's have

. Been caught under paying employees countless times
. (profanity) up my pizza countless times
. The smallest pizzas I've ever seen called "large"
. Outside of gourmet Crust pizzas, the most expensive pizzas available in my area
. Cars driving around EVERYWHERE at any time of the day, clearly not hurting for cash
. An absolutely useless online estimator that gets my hopes up only to come half an hour late
. A manager I've talked to who straight up says on a slow day they'll make about 3500.

Domino's do not deserve any extra money for their already tiny pizzas. If KFC wanted to charge 10% more on a Sunday, I mean, I still wouldn't like it, but if I was craving a Zinger stacker or something, I'd fork over an extra 90 cents because I know people who work there and they actually get treated like human beings, and (AFAIK) there's no scandals about underpaid KFC workers en masse. Not to mention, that if I'm spending 15/16 on a single Domino's pizza (not that I would), 10% of that is quite a decent hike up, especially if 3 or 4 of you are grabbing a pizza each, which isn't exactly unheard of. That's creeping up toward spending an extra ten bucks on just a few pizzas for the boys (ignoring potential Coke or garlic bread purchases too) and as far was we know, the employees ain't getting shit of that surcharge anyway. So (profanity) their 10% surcharge. It effectively makes this BOGOF coupon into the standard 40% off deal in my eyes.

          • @TheDukeOfNukem: I guess this is how the Big Don gets paid $40 million per year, double dip by ripping off staff and customers at the same time.

          • @TheDukeOfNukem: Wow for me I’m happy paying less :)

If they find people happy being paid peanuts GL to them .

        • Maccas used to not pay penalty rates so that's how…

      • The Sunday Surcharge is disengaging for me. With the amount of other fast food around people would avoid buying there that particular day and employees will not get big benefit than the other 6 days.

I think Pizza Hut has it too.

      • I thought they introduced the $5 range to cover the hourly rate of workers
