most 4k movies look to be 40% off at checkout, some great prices

Silly question but does 4K make a difference on these old animated films? I feel like I've bought classic disney movies on every new format over the years (yes I'm a sucker) but at some point, does the quality stop improving?

    • Can't speak for Disney but I have studio ghibli films on DVD and Bluray, and I feel you kinda you stop seeing a return on investment after DVD. Animated films pretty much look the same.

    • Agree with you.

Personally thought that Blu-Ray made them all look a bit too cartoony.

Only if you care about filling in all the pixels in your 4K tv. The case is usually Disney cartoon you watching with kids and those pixels aren’t important. Say if you watch something fully animated like the new jungle book or lion king, yeah better go 4K, especially for keepsakes too :)

catch up? the remake is the same thing.

better advice: buy this instead of spending your money on a generic remake

    • Yeah, the whole excitement around the remake seems to revolve around two things:

      • Current pop stars and celebrities doing the voices
      • Oh, look, we're using a videogame rendering engine to make a videogame-looking movie that the user can't interact with.
      • Whilst I no doubt will still watch it because Lion King, I did fail to see the point of a live action if it's all just CG… at least Aladdin had real people in it.

  • I'm not seeing the discounted price… I get $26.
