Looks like a great price for a well received no frills percolator.

For fans of the quick and dirty cup o' mud style coffee in the morning. Has a reusable filter to save money on those wasteful buts of paper and a built in timer so your 'coffee' is ready when you wake up.

Bought 2, father's day sorted

Ships from and fullfilled by Amazon AU, so will work with any straggling prime vouchers.

pretty sure JB has same price

    Same price at JB HiFi.

  • I don't know where I read it, but it seems that most people like the taste of coffee that's come out of a percolator, better than anything else.

I like homemade cold brew myself. Could never get a good result out of pour over, and I tried a hundred different things. Similar poor results with an aeropress. Only thing that I did well with was a cheap espresso machine.

Nearly bought one of these on Prime Day…. glad I waited. Thanks!

  • I use a Hario v60. I'm assuming the taste would be the same?

    • Yeah I'd say they'd be close to identical if the filters don't add any flavor themselves

Your difference will be from automation. You lose control of the saturation, pour time, temperature etc. and then the hot plate burns the first coffee until there is enough to cool down the plate.

I went with a KitchenAid Syphon, rather than my manual syphons, it's not as good but is easier.

      • Thanks for the info on the Syphon.

I wish there were a machine in Australia that can grind and drip coffee all in one like the Breville Grind Control. Know of anything like that?

Great price on this coffee make otherwise.

That would be a Breville BDC600XL YouBrew. I had one for a while, pretty good but goes through more coffee than you'd expect. Nice to wake to the sound of the grinder, knowing the coffee will be ready in 5 minutes. I gave mine to my brother and he still uses it.

But it looks like they've stopped making them and the Grind Control is the replacement, strange it's not being sold here. You might be able to pick up a YouBrew second hand.

      • I just want something to save me time. I don't really get to go us too much on the pour over anyway, between getting kids breakfast ready and such.

Paper filters work much better than the reusable filter IMHO. When using the reusable filter you need to ensure to grind size is larger which changes the intensity and flavour of the coffee. People dont like the taste of the papar filters but thats why you should give them a quick rinse before use! ((Just fYI))

    Except it is a dripulator.

A coffee percolator is a type of pot used for the brewing of coffee by continually cycling the boiling or nearly boiling brew through the grounds using gravity until the required strength is reached.

So funny story. I failed the first quarter of a class in high school, so I made a fake report card. I did this every quarter that year. I forgot that they mail home the end-of-year cards, and my mum got it before I could intercept with my fake. She was PISSED at the school for their error. The teacher also retired that year and had already thrown out his records, so they had to take my mum’s “proof” (the fake ones I made throughout the year) and “correct” the “mistake.” I’ve never told her the truth.

Anyways I think this is the same price in JB Hi-Fi

  • It’s $59 for me and I am with Amazon prime

It looks like this deal and the JB Hifi one expired last night unfortunately :/
