[VIC, Ex Display] LG OLED65C7T 65" 4K UHD HDR Smart TV $2288 C&C (No Delivery) @ JB Hi-Fi Dandenong South

54

LG OLED 65 inch TV ex display discontinued C7 model only $2288 from Melbourne distribution centre. Purchase it seems during open hours and collect within one hour.

Might be older model without Google Assistant but still a pretty cheap 65 inch OLED.

Sure, maybe it's display stock, but JB Hi-Fi don't put on sports and news which are the culprits for permanent burn in.

  • Where? Store in title please.

Seen a few good prices on ex-display OLED but I would avoid personally. Can just imagine these things being cranked on max brightness 24/7. Begging for some issues down the track tbh.

Normal price for 2nd hand TV, this thing has been running 24/7 for the last 12 months.

  • +4

for a display TV to be a bargain it needs to at least a 40% discount from a good bargain price, so no, terrible deal, unless they throw in free 5 year warranty

Isn't OLED just the worst tech to buy second hand? Burn in, finite life span. Just a bad idea all around.

Yay another waste of time display stock post.

Display OLED is the worst of all.

A C7? So this thing has been running at max brightness for two years. Would definitely avoid

1 unit for sale is not a bargain

  • I saw this at jb Melville WA but it was brand new box but 2888

  • +1

2017 model been on display for how long? lol

You basically get brand new B8 for the same price (more than one unit).

    • How many times do you reckon they turned it off at the power point too….

      • +1

Not to mention burn in is a major concern with OLED.

  • You'd have to be a dill to buy this…. Old OLED been on for how long and going for $2288….? Yeah ok..

  • +1

Feel sorry for whoever they sell this to. Bad deal on multiple levels, sorry OP.

  • Burn in is not really a issue unless you only watch the same channel with the same static logo for 20 hours a day everyday for 4 months. https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/real-life-oled-burn-in-test

    • I have seen a C7 in a retailer that had burn in from the screen saver being ran constantly at peak brightness. The LG uses pictures of landscapes with horizon line roughly in the centre of each picture when on a video input with no incoming source. Even on my own C7 I can see the horizon line faintly on grey slides. Luckily it's just image retention on my mofel but on the C7 I saw at a retailer, it was definitely burnt in.

      • Really? After two minutes it’s just fireworks here.

Never ever EVER buy an ex-display OLED. Not even for $10. The burn in around any logos will be intense. Imagine a '4K' logo permenantly burnt in.

I bought one not knowing this (from JB Hi Fi), and yep - horrendous burn in.

Took it back and asked for a proper replacement - which I LOVE!

LG OLED TVs - so pretty to look at.

        Did you pay the difference?

        • Nope, straight switch over.

Well, sort of. I'd asked for the last of the 3D models and was assured that what I bought was.

          And of course it wasn't.

So I wasn't happy, and explained this to them. Shitty JBHiFi sales person did what I expected him to say which was "well 3D is going out of fashion, you won't be able to get discs blah blah blah") - all of which was irrelevant as that was what they had agreed to sell me. Funny they weren't telling me this -before- buying it!

So I finally got a brand new one delivered from another store.

  • The JB ex-display I just collected was new. Other forum posts have confirmed staff saying "some unopened boxes out the back".

In any case I don't feel a good price for a 65" C7. I paid $400 less for a higher model 65" from the following model year

    • Where did you pick up from? A store or a distribution centre?

  • There are some available to pick up at the Sydney Distribution Centre. Would JB stores use them for display and then send it to the Distribution Centre to be sold as ex-display? Just wondering if there could be somehow unsold unused TVs (E7)
