What is embracing india event?
Essendon just want more Indian fans, which in turn boosts revenue.
Who in Essendon football club's marketing created this idea?
- Essendon does not house many indians compared to outer western suburbs (Tarneit etc.)
- indians usually follow cricket and not AFL
- statistically indians have a low propensity to spend compared with other cultures as saving money is a stronger value to them.
- Football clubs, particularly in Melbourne, moved beyond their name as their home base long ago. Otherwise they'd be restricted to a very small number.
- And? You still try to get involvement, you don't just give up.
- These were free tickets to get them in the door. There was no cost of entry…

Does anyone feel inconsiderate in these instances and not in the spirit of the promotion? An organisation is trying to target a particular cohort by giving away a significant amount of tickets to their event. I think some people are taking advantage of this. It would be interesting to know the percentage of Ozbargain-ers that actually go.
