Best Phone Plan/Prepaid for International Calls to Sri Lanka

Hi All,

Ever since Belong got rid of it's free international calls to Sri Lanka - it's difficult to find a plan/prepaid plan that allows for this?

Are there any options - with even a high amount of minutes per month? Vodafone seem to have 100 minutes per month. Telstra's plans are naturally quite expensive for the unlimited calls.

Any else using something better?

  • Telstra doesn't have included international calls anymore and their international call packs now don't include Sri Lanka either :-(

The more expensive Vodafone plans have 200min

What about Whatsapp/ Viber?….can't obviously call landlines.

  • With Optus you can add it for $10pm.

    Hi Machan,
These are the cheapest I have come across.
DODO does 200 mins International call minutes including SL for $30/mth and Exetel has a $29.99/mth package with $500 call credits (which equal to ~340 minutes to SL).
    Both are Optus MVNOs.

  • Is exetel the best option still? Seeing it's nearly been a year.

Looking for my inlaws.. also on exetel how hard is it to check how much of that $500 is left as the month progresses?

  • Merged from Is There Anyone Provide Unlimited Telephone Calls to Sri Lanka

I am wondering that to call Sri Lanka from Australia, is there any plan available with included unlimited calls to Sri Lanka, please do not suggest the social media calls such Viber, WhatsApp, or any other messenger or internet calling?

    • Check this post?

    • Internode has a 'VOIP Nodephone' product that charges a 15 cent flagfall then 27 cents per minute. Note that it's not mobile.

Boost Mobile has a 365 day prepaid plan which includes 5 hours talk time every month to Sri Lanka. They also have cheaper prepaid plans with fewer minutes to Sri Lanka.
