For the smart features to work the light switch has to be left in the on position at all time otherwise there's no power to the light

  • Does anyone know if the 3 pack will come in B22?

  • Does it work with Apple Homekit?

It's not mentioned anywhere, has anyone made it work?

    • I sent them an email, this does not work with Apple Homekit.

  • Does anyone know if you can control the colour of each garden light individually? Or do all four have to be the same colour at once?

Just bought and tested two downlights.
Named them "Downlight 1" and "Downlight 2" and added them to Kitchen. Google home grouped them together as Kitchen Lights.
By addressing "Kitchen Lights" it allows synchronised control of both lights.
By addressing either "Downlight 1" or "Downlight 2" i can control them individually.
Short answer, you get the best of both worlds.

      Hope this helps.

      • .. aaaaand just realised after posting, you were seeking info on garden, not down lights.
        -doh

      • Had all the downlights at your store been opened and resealed? Noticed that at mine, resealed with same round sticker though.
Was only after any downlights so didn't notice if any of the other Brilliant products had been as well.

Hoping its not to update firmware on them all with a non tuya-convert-able version or something like that. App reporting latest version already at 3.3.3
Not much else in the box, unless they shipped with the wrong plug and needed the cable changed..

Noticed the same at local Aldi store with double stickers.

Anyone got the outdoor security light and how is it?

@LHSolutions: Earlier in the week I purchased a couple of the CCT Downlights and a Security Light. Tried doing a tuya-convert on them but failed. So I went old school and opened them up, did some soldering and successfully flashed Tasmota onto the downlights - I uploaded a template onto the Tasmota site.
Unfortunately I was not successful with the security light, on opening it up it appears to be a Tuya WR3 which as far as I can tell is not ESP3266 based. I will do some more investigating but at this stage it is not looking good for Tasmota. In the meantime I have configured the Tuya Smart App which seems to work with the unit on the floor.

            • @spider76: Cheers for the info. Got as far as opening up one of the downlights and getting some photos of the internals. Was happy to see everything looked accessible.

Haven't had any experience with Tasmota yet so your template will come in handy (when I eventually get around to a HA set up..)

  • Just bought a pack of the 3 lights. Impressed with the white light but the RGB are quite dim.

Just a word of warning for any tinkerers looking to get access to the ESP8266 inside for flashing custom firmware i.e. Tasmota: The electronics inside the RGB bulbs are potted making it basically impossible to get the board out of the housing. Fortunately, the potting material is soft and is only filled so that it covers the bottom few pads on the ESP8266. It's possible to scrape away the material to gain access. However, because you can't separate the board from the housing it's quite fiddly to get the wires soldered on, but definitely doable.

  • I got the garden lights, it connects fine initially, but then after a while (~30 minutes) the status becomes offline. Anyone having this issue? I've tried re-pairing it without luck so far, same would happen - online for some time and then offline.

    • Got it sorted.. the reception is pretty bad on these things, I had the controller buried underground, had to take it out a bit, even then the signal is weak. Full bar on my iPhone X at the same spot.

      • How is it powered? Does it have to be connected to AC power?

        • Yep, it connects directly to the power supply which comes in the box. Mains -> power supply -> smart controller -> lights x 4
