      It's a solid deal.

      • +3

        Which state ?

        • +3

I'm not sure, but I hope you won't have to drive to get there.

            @Munki:

hope you won't have to drive to get there.

            No, it's near NANDo's

@jv: Look jv, I think you're nice and all, but I only take special women to Nando's.

Or the samsung 860 QVO same code from computer alliance $140 with $20 cashback?

Edit: cashabck finishes 30/07 might not get it in time.

    • +2

      Redemption Period
Within 28 days of purchasing OR End time: 11:59 PM, Wednesday, 28 August 2019

      • in that case makes it ~$120 after cashabck

    • +4

The MX500 performs better than the QVO. But if you'd like to save some money for not much real world difference, the QVO is also a good buy.

Mind you, MX500 has 5 years warranty vs QVO's 3 years.

    • How does cashback really work? Do we pay $140 upfront and get the $20 back into out accounts? Or do we pay $120?

      • You pay full price and then claim the cashback from Samsung after. Then you get $20 back. Hence "cashback".

      • +8

pay full price, receive item, forget about cashback, find invoice, start filling in cashback form, get distracted, forget about it again, remember a week after redemption period stops. Make mental to not bother with cashbacks in future :)

        • +1

It's as easy as filling in your tax retOOPS!
          BRB.

      • +2

        I've done it twice now.
Each time Samsung hasn't paid up and I've had to hound them via email to eventually get the money, several weeks after I should have received it.
        Keep this in mind.

        • +1

Thanks for the reminder to check!

Please note as per the Terms and Conditions, you should allow up to 28 days for the Cashback EFT Transfer to be made to your nominated bank account.

They weren't kidding… email received 17th May, got money 18th June!

          • @aragornelessar: They certainly take 28 days (for mine, I think it was more like 28 business days).

            • @netsurfer: Mine took around 7-8 weeks, after many emails. Numerous other users experienced the same. You're both very lucky.

        • Mine were both done in a relatively reasonable time-frame. I just "pin" the email so it stays at the top on the inbox to remind me to check the bank.

When I lived in the US, I would buy items which had a shop cashback + an overlapping manufacturer's cashback & many times, I MADE money! Free shipping, too. Ah, the good ol' days!

          :)

          • @Geekomatic: I pin it. I also set an event in my calendar. Didn't make a difference. Didn't stop Samsung making all kinds of excuses and asking me to wait a couple weeks longer, then a couple more, and all of that twice.

        • Pay full price.
        • Sign up to the Samsung Redemption site.
        • Open your SSD, take a photo of the serial number.
        • Scan or take photo of the invoice/receipt.
        • Login to the site and enter all the details, upload the photo(s).
        • Wait for a couple of days to ensure your request has been confirmed.
        • Wait weeks for that actual $20 cashback. Samsung will take the maximum amount of time they can as specified in the terms and conditions of the promotion.
        • Thanks for the details. That's too much work for $20 back :(

          • @ar7ist: That's how these cashback schemes work - entices people to buy something because 'hey, it's cheap!'. People forget to claim or lose their receipts and the seller comes out ahead! Its pretty genius marketing when you think about it.

Taking every second of delaying a cashback they can from their clauses is a bit borderline but at least they're not being jerks and denying obvious applications

  • I purchased a 500GB one for about $120 about 10 days ago on another deal, so this is an exceptionally good price.

SSD prices are crashing down quick.

  • cheap! i remember last week one small computer shop tried to sell me BX series 480gb ssd for $69 lol….

  • +5

As of about 40 seconds prior to this post they suddenly put the price up $10
    Now $143.65 delivered.

EDIT: UPDATE - another seller (shallothead) has it for actually like 80 cents cheaper than original price in this post. Using same code and free plus postage.

    • damn I missed it

  • DAMN - i just got a BX500 for 125 !!!

Didnt expect computer alliance to price jack

Arent they paid by ebay for these promos? Why do they have to price jack

    • +1

They didn't originally. In fact, it was the best price this drive has seen I think. You'll see it was only updated like an hour and a half ago.

  • Does anyone know if we've recently had non ebay plus deals for around the same price? I could use a SSD but could wait another month orso. If it truly is a great deal I'll just make a new dummy Ebay account and get the 4 month trial.

    • Me too but I want to wait till early August before creating dummy eBay, so 4 months trial will last till black friday in November

      • Just making another dummy account!

        • If so, can my 3 eBay accounts share the same PayPal?

  • +3

shallothead's listing seems to be back in stock for $134.

    • +2

Thanks. Updated again. Lol this is such a tedious job.

  • computer alliance have got the Crucial MX500 (500GB) for $89 (or $86.33 with the code PICKLE) too

  • shallothead's listing seems to be out of stock, again.

    fyi
