  • Yep, price for the batteries good, I wanted to order 2 lots, $19 delivery!

    • edit: The description has been updated by a friendly mod. Sorry for the confusion :S

  • +1

yeah its not 20 bux shipped, its 20+shipping!

    • Just $20 + delivery, even in Darwin that's less than $0.75 per battery!

20 shipped would be awesome, still a decent deal…

shopping square has a couple of deals as well.. the ultras are 47.64 +10 shipping for 40

shame about the shipping. still cheap though…but yeah ill give it a miss…

  • shipping extra. not a deal

    • The title is inaccurate for sure, but can you find them cheaper?

  • Hi guys, rep here. It's definitely not free delivery, delivery price ranges from $7.45 (Sydney) to $15.30 (Darwin).

Most metro deliveries will come out at ~$29.

Can the OP change the description to make this accurate?

    • +1

-cough-freeshipping-cough— yeah not gonna happen… would be a great deal if it where…

      • I WISH. My job would be easy! Delivery of 1.something kg of batteries ain't cheap

    • Or a mod? ;)

      Edit: Thanks :)

Anyone else seeing they have certificate issues?

    • Hi jakey69, can you clarify? I'm talking to tech and we aren't aware of any issues here everything looks good…

      • +2

Um I'm getting a 'warning: certificate doesn't match website' the domain the certificate is for is *.officeapps.com or similar

        • Edit: Removed

        • +2

It came up twice when I first loaded the page on my htc desire , default internet browser. I pressed to hide the message and now I can't duplicate it.

        • Ah. Problem duplicated on our end. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, it has something to do with mobile browser redirecting. The site's SSL is definitely fine (and your details are secure), but the initial redirect (not even on the HTTPS part of the site) points to an old certificate for some reason.

          Thanks again!

    Expect to pay $96? Where?
Kmart has a 16 pack for $10. I bought them last week.

    • +1

its a 4x pack 12… so its a fair call…not that you would buy them like that.

    • It's referring to if you were to buy 12 packs of 4. The marketing of them in this way comes from above my head :-) but if you bought them slowly in packs of 4 over a long time you would end up paying this I guess

      • +1

almost deceptive using the price like that… because your not buying them over a long period… its like quoting an over inflated RRP when no one pays RRP for the item…-shrugs-

you'd buy them in bulk packs…

also what the expiry of these batteries?

        • +1

I don't disagree with you wisc, I'm going to chat to the boss about it.

          The "expiry" is 2017

Edit: Description changed. No reference to $96

    • This one isn't me cyrax ;) But I'm always here, pretending to work

      • +1

Wow somebody doesn't like me :'( So many negs :P

  • Doesnt it cost more to buy disposal batteries over rechargeables?

    • +1

Working on getting some awesome rechargable deals happening, but I think this would depend on how you use your batteries ;)

      • might join the bandwagon if you can deliver on the rechargeable ones

        • There's a bandwagon? Sweet! ;P

  • +2

problem with most rechargeables is they lose power over time(even when not in use), so not good for low power items like remote controls… that said, i use them in mine, just have to recharge every now and then…

    • +1

thanks Wisc, I'm just genuinely trying to find out which one cost less in case if anyone thinks I'm negging this deal… :)

      • If you only had a couple of items (ie a remote control or two) then I imagine rechargables are definitely the way to go (cost wise). If you have a number of items like toys, heaps of remotes etc then this might be a cheaper way to go? Personally a rechargables man myself but not everybody is!

        • +1

if you do the sums, over time, rechargables will generally save you at least 10 times their original cost compared to "standard" batteries.

    • +1

True. You can get long-life ones, though. Hold slightly less maximum charge but are meant to lose only 10-15% of their charge over the course of one year.

Considering batteries can take only an hr or two to charge, it's a non-issue. Use long-life ones in remotes, etc. Short-life in mice, toys and other things that will go through batteries quickly. Cycle through charged ones.

As tempting as these deals are I never partake. I've not had to buy batteries over the past 3 years or so. I just keep using the same ones over and over.

  • +1

I bought a 4 pack with charger, 4x AA, 2000mAh, Sony "cyclenergy" (low self discharge) rechargables last week from HN instore for $20.
    Seem similar to eneloops.
Actually got 2 "packs", much better deal than standard AA batteries.

(no postage costs, pickup instore :))

    • Everybody loves a good deal :) I've been pushing to get rechargables on the site, hopefully something comes up in the future that you're a fan of

do you have any Australian made batteries? Overseas manufactured batteries are killing our local battery market, they should have to pay more tax to sell them here!

    • Interesting question benneh, I'm not aware of any Australian made batteries? Can you point out any?

    • +1

We already pay double. How much more tax do you reckon?

… Sorry didn't pick it up! I hope your comment was made from an Australian keyboard! :P

could be more but cbf digging

    • +1

Sorry to be a buzzkill, but those batteries fall under their AA rating (as opposed to AA battery type) which means Australian owned company but imported product
