        I don't but for this price I will be getting one. I have asked the same question as you and there are mixed comments. Some say the cheap ones on eBay do a very similar job. Hopefully someone else that has used both products can answer your question :)

        I've had one for about a year, no complaints. I also purchased a no name canon off eBay and they'd be very similar in construction. I paid around the same price as this on another sale and think it's good for the price, especially given it has most common adapters in the box. Many others you need to buy an adapter to suit your machine, especially if it's Gerni, Ryobi etc.

        I don't use the shampoo in the canon but have used it for bucket washing before. It's good and is essentially a freebie. I would use a dedicated foaming agent in the canon. Bowden's snow job ($44 at Repco currently but you can get it cheaper on a good sale) or Autoglym's Polar Blast (around $40) would be my recommendations thru the mainstream outlets. You can use a shampoo but you'll use more of it.

          I've done a search on Ebay & there are a wide range of foam cannons which seem much cheaper that this.
          I guess some of the cheap ones may not work as well - does anyone have links to a cheap one on ebay that is similar and/or works as well as this meguires one?

            @Gaz1: This is the one I've got. As I said, very similar to the Meg's one. For some reason the adapter came separately to the canon/bottle, with the canon arriving nearly a week after the adapter. It is a lot tighter in my Gerni handle (it's brass so I filed it down as it was too tight IMO) but other than that, no real complaints. Works the same.

                @Gaz1: How big is your car? I use close to the full litre bottle on our CX9 but smaller cars like a hatchback or sedan you would get away with the 600ml bottle. No idea how well they work, I did get the really cheap, non adjustable version with my Gerni but it went straight in the bin as it was useless. The ones like your link are meant to be better but I still don't think they'll be ideal.

                    @Gaz1: You need the adjustment, so definitely don't go with the non adjustable $20 one. Then you're looking at $30, you can find the larger/better ones cheaper than that on eBay. The "genuine" ones seem to flow too much water, even on the minimum setting, which means you need to use a lot more product.

                    Good comparison vid here, you want it really thick so it can dwell on the panels and loosen the dirt, not just slide straight off.

                      @whitelie: Aaah - yes,I see what you mean. The Ebay one you mention seems to be a bit more expensive that others - I assume due to the Gerni adapter. Any thoughts on one that suits a Karcher K2?

                        @Gaz1: I'd just get any cheap one off eBay really. One thing I did notice is that the adapter on the cheaper ones is plastic. Just be careful if you ever drop it or the weight of the full bottle on the end of the trigger may end up cracking it eventually…that said, you can get a brass adapter to replace it easily enough.

                @Gaz1: I got the one without the yellow valve on top and it doesn't work as a foam cannon. Far too much water and the foam just rinses down, doesn't stick to remove grime.

                @Fobsessive: Looks similar, only had a quick glance, seems ok but did notice only 3 star rating (I didn't read the reviews). Just factor in that you'll need an adaptor to suit your machine which may add another $5-10 depending on where you get it from.

      No, it's different to the 3 in the box.

          It will work to some extent but the pressure is too low for a really good, thick foam which will sit on the panels and do it's thing. If the pressure is low, it tends to dilute with water too much and will run off the panels.
          I mean you can get foam lances/guns that "work" off normal water pressure but in my experience the results are nowhere near as good as high pressure.

              For $149, I think this is good value.

              Only thing is you may want to upgrade to the 8m hose or you'll find yourself moving the machine a lot to work around most cars. They're another $35 or something from Bunnings.

              Ryobi do one for $129 which seems to get pretty good reviews but the metal pumps on Gerni's are the best IMO.

    Their chamois is useless. I have to return it to sca on the other day. It doesn't absorb water and left trails when you sweep.

      I purchased one of these to replace an older one. This always left water marks. I reverted back to the old one. Useless product.

      I find chamois to be not that great anyway, even the decent ones.
      A good microfibre drying towel is a lot better IMO.

        Agree. I use a $4 one from Kmart and it does the job well, might get a Big Green Sucker next time they are $20. Much better to use than chamois IMO.

          Probably better than a synthetic one but they're both terrible for your paint This isn't the 90's, there's much better products out there than a piece of leather to dry your car.

          I use these, easily dry a large SUV without wringing it out.

            You spent $44 to get a "dedicated foaming agent" aka surfactant aka dishwashing liquid but you can still save!

            After washing your car with "dedicated foaming agent" (or dishwashing liquid, they're both surfactants, same thing), wash the car off using water and a few mililitres of methylated spirits.

            Then polish it with scrunched up newspaper.

            Or I guess you could spend $50 on another solvent and water instead of using meths!

          Leather only JV. And I disagree with whitelie that both are bad.

          Synthetic leaves streaks if you allow a little moisture to protect the paint while wiping (as you're supposed to do).
          Leather ones you can wring enough to not leave streaks, but still be moist enough to not scratch your top coat.

          Aion Plas Synthetic chamois wins my vote. Available from Big W. Needs to be washed when new, but beats all the other synthetic chamois hands down IMO.

    Anyone know how the cannon compares to the car wash attachment (the bottle that gets filled with wash solution) that comes with the Gerni pressure cleaners?
